A very meaningful holy week was enjoyed by me and my family.

The whole span of holy week

was full of joy, reflection, and appreciation of Jesus Christ and the religion of Christianism. I
didn’t know that our family would do a lot in the holy week because we’re still coping with the
Pandemic and things had been easier for a little time only. We didn’t expect that we are going to
have multiple activities and this holy week provided me time to relax and meditate on things I
needed to understand.

After loads of activities in academics, I had to have a keen mindset on my to-do list and plan
things. Fortunately, I participated during holy week. There were things our family did in
dedication to being a holy christian. We were glad to do it as I felt that it strengthens our family
and our bond with christ. Knowing that this pandemic has been difficult, it was also hard for us
to find reasons to be optimistic, compassionate, and understanding to our environment and
society. During the holy week participation, we had processions last Wednesday wherein we
allotted effort and time with 38 carroza until we reached our church destination.

Another simple thing we did is we had observed fasting. It was hard to not eat food as much as
we used to do but this happens only in a week for a year and we are fulfilling this to our christ so
we endured and put effort on it. Lastly, we prayed continuously in the whole 7 days of holy
week. We know there are things better than what we did as a family, but we made sure that our
resources are utilized well so we could spend the holy week peacefully and with productivity.
After these, I am sure that me and my family were closer and more ready to face challenges
because we got strengthened and supported by Jesus’ love and guidance.

I can say that being a devoted christian or catholic is difficult especially having health risks in
this COVID-19 pandemic. Aside from that, our faith was tested with all those financial,
emotional, and physical struggles our health has faced in 2 and a half years of pandemic. We got
closer to the lord which is something I appreciated because I used to underestimate the essence
of christianity in the hardest moments of our lives. Thankfully, paschal triduum was practiced
while reflecting in the whole 7 days of holy week. Despite being sinful, ungrateful, and greedy
sometimes, God was still there and he let us stand firm up until now and I know it will last more
than this. Everything had a clearer vision of the future and what happened in the past because of
our devotion in holy week.
