to End Violence Against Women

December 13, 2021
8:00 am-11:30 am

Neprissa: “All women are beautiful, regardless of their looks. You just need to touch
their soul with respect and appreciation for their inner beauty and you will be rewarded
with joy.” The campaign to end violence against women is everywhere. Hence, we have
this activity.

Our due respect to the University President, Dr. Baceledes R. Estal, to the
Campus Directors: Prof. Whelson Pasos of Bislig Campus, Dr. Ariston Ronquillo of
Tagbina Campus, Dr. Cynthia Sajot of Lianga, Dr. Noelito Salcedo of Cagwait, Dr.
Clemencia Sumagaysay of San Miguel, Dr. Nemesio Loayon of Tandag- Main Campus
and Dr. Juancho Intano of Cantilan Campus, to the Gender And Development Director
Dr. Rosalyn C. Dayao, to the faculty and staff of the whole university, good morning.
Welcome to the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women Virtual
Culmination Program, hosted by the North Eastern Mindanao State University-Cantilan
Campus. Good morning Sir Jed!

Jed: Good morning too Mam Nep, seeing the stats and reading how many women and
girls have been killed, injured, or discriminated every year is heartbreaking, the
prognosis this time is particularly bleak. Thus, we are gathered here today to focus on
building societies where women and men are equal and each one is vital to stability and
growth of the community.

Neprissa: Precisely correct Sir Jed… To formally start, let us have a prayer to be
followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, the Asian and SDSSU Hymn
via multimedia presentation.

Jed: Thank you… Make yourself comfortable as Dr. Juancho Intano, from the host
campus will give his opening remarks. A virtual applause, please…
Neprissa: Thank you so much Dr. Intano for your warm greetings. And now, for the
Pledge of Commitment please help me welcome Dr. Rosalyn C. Dayao, the Gender
And Development Director. Let us give her a virtual applause…

Jed: Thank you so much Ma’am Dayao for your relentless work and dedication to this
event. In a few minutes, we will be announcing the winners for the TikTok and Short
Film Videos. (please see separate list for the campus winners)

Neprissa: At this time, let’s enjoy and watch the winning videos from students and
faculty.

Jed: Wow! Indeed, we are gifted with different talents. Right partner?

Neprissa: Yes of course it’s very evident. Before we proceed, let us give thanks to the
people behind this event: to our dearest University President Dr. Baceledes R. Estal, to
GAD Director, Dr. Rosalyn Dayao, to the all the Campus Directors, the Campus and
College Coordinators for their unending support, to the Committee chairs and members
who have done their tasks despite very hectic schedule, to everyone who have
participated in the varied activities of GAD.

Jed: Thank you for your presence and support. This time, we shall here a message
from our beloved university president. Please help me welcome, Dr. Baceledes R. Estal.
A virtual applause please.

Neprissa: Thank you so much, Dr. Estal for gracing this occasion. We are humbled by
your recent expression of support for the VAW-FREE campaign and all GAD activities in
the university.

Jed: That concludes our first part for the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against
Women Virtual Culmination Program.

Neprissa. Indeed, this movement brings attention to the systemic violence experienced
by women and girls all over the world - but these commitments must go beyond
eighteen days of recognizing and pampering our women. It should always be an
attitude, a practice and a culture to all people.

Jed: Now it’s time for us to take concrete steps that fund and support women and girls,
particularly those afflicted by conflict or crisis.

Jed and Neprissa: FOR VAWFREE COMMUNITY STARTS WITH US

Neprissa: Thank you so much everyone for joining us in today’s virtual culmination
program.

This has been your moderators, Neprissa E. Cuarteron

Jed: And Jed M. Bohol, Good morning once again and may God bless us all!
