THINGS TO NOTE
We fantasize about the day we will crack XYZ examination, get a five-six-digit
salary, travel to this beautiful place, step into this new spacious house. The focus
is on the success, not the struggle. And it’s understandable — success is
glamorous, memorable, and marketable, while the struggle is drab, disagreeable,
and unattractive for the general public.
Yet, it’s making the effort, struggling, and sticking to your resolutions that shapes
you as a person. Success is a reward for having given it your best, but it’s not
always within your control whether and when you get to enjoy it. Whenever you
find yourself discouraged by your lack of success, remind yourself that the process
alone is your reward. It’s in your hands whether you allow yourself to see the
rewards the struggle generates or ignore them, mindlessly pursing the end result
as the sole indicator of success.
I failed numerous times in life. I could have despaired that I had lost so much time
and effort and money, but I hadn’t really failed. I had been true to my values of
pursuing the life I wanted. I kept going, despite the obstacles I constantly
encountered along the way.
Eventually my efforts paid off, but even if it had taken longer to get the results —
the struggle would still have been worth it for the immense changes I underwent
on the journey to pursue my dreams.

Solutions:-
(1) (c) 20% discount means the ratio of MP and SP = 5 :4
4units = 840
5 units = 1050
Mark up = 50% (Means the ratio of CP and MP= 2 : 3)
3 units = 1050
2 units = 700
CP = 700
SP = 840
Profit = Rs 140 (Ans)
(2) (a) CP of 1 toffee = Rs 1/60
2 units --- 1/60
8 units --- 1/15
Therefore, required number toffees = 15
(3) A : B = 7 : 3
7 units – 77 grams
3 units – 33 grams
Total – 110 grams
PAGE 25
CHECKLIST FOR BANK EXAMS 2022 BY AASHISH ARORA
11 units – 110 grams
12 units – 120 grams (Ans)
(4) (d) P1 * 5* 5/100 = P2 * 6 * 5 /100
P1 : P2 = 6 : 5
(5) Mayank’s income = Rs 60000
Rishabh’s Income = Rs 50000
7x + 5y = 60000
6x + 4y= 50000
Solving simultaneously , we get y = 5000
Savings of Rishabh = Rs 20000
Therefore the expenditure of Rishabh = Rs 30,000
(6) Ratio of the profit of Vishal and Moksh = 7*9 : 13*12 = 12 : 52
52 units = 57200
73 units = (57200÷52) * 73
80% --- = (57200÷52) * 73
100% (total profit) = (57200÷52) * 73 * 5/4 = Rs 100,375
(7) Total work = 78 (LCM of 13, 26 , 39)
Neeraj’s 1 day work = 6
Manish’s 1 day work = 3
Om’s 1 day work = 2
work done in 3 days = 11
work done in 21 days = 77
total work done in 21+1/6 days = 78
Required number of days = 127/6 days (Ans)
(8) (b) Ratio of days= 42 : 30 = 7 : 5
Ratio of men = 5 : 7
2 units = 10
PAGE 26
CHECKLIST FOR BANK EXAMS 2022 BY AASHISH ARORA
1 unit = 5
5 units = 5*5 = 25
Therefore, X = 25
X + 45 = 70 men
Number of days taken by (X+45) men = 25*42/70 = 15 days (Ans)
(9) A : B = 7 : 6
After transfer, A : B = 9 : 4
Sum of both ratios should be same. (13)
2 units = 10
1 unit = 5
7 units = 35 (Ans)
(10) (a) Quantity of orange juice and lemon juice in 270 litres = 210 litres and
60 litres
Now the ratio of orange juice and lemon juice = 3 : 5
3 units = 210
5 units = 350
Added lemon juice = 350 – 60 = 290 litres
(11) By performing alligation, we get the ratio of time = 1 : 1
Distance covered at 80 km/hr = 80 * 1 u = 80 u
Distance covered at 30 km/hr = 30 * 1 u = 30 u
Ratio of the distance = 8 : 3 (Ans)
(12) 2 C = 1 D
C:D=1:2
Ratio of speeds = 21 * 1 : 19 * 2 = 21 : 38 (Ans)
(13) Height of the cylinder = 1022/73 = 14
Area of the square = 14*14 = 196
(14) CP * 75 = MP * 35
PAGE 27
CHECKLIST FOR BANK EXAMS 2022 BY AASHISH ARORA
CP: MP = 7 : 15
SP : MP = 13 : 15
CP : SP : MP = 7 : 13 : 15
6 units = 336
7 units = 392
CP of 75 articles = 75 * 392 = 29400 Rs
(15) Mohit + wife + son + daughter = 96 (Present)
When, the age of wife = 25, then age of son = 0 and Mohit = 30
When, age of Mohit = 33, then age of daughter = 0 , age of wife = 28 and age of
daughter = 3
Total = 64 years.
96 – 64 = 32 (Which should be divided by 4)
We, get the age of Mohit = 41 and age of his daughter = 11
Sum of the ages of Mohit and his son is = 52
Required average = 26 years (Ans)
