MINUTES OF UNIVERSAL WHITE HALL PTF MEETING HELD ON SATURDAY 12 TH

FEBUARY, 2022.
OPENING PRAYER
The meeting commenced with opening prayer at 8.33am by Mrs. Odogun Tolulope.
WELCOME ADDRESS
The chairman, Mr. Ayotunde Amoo welcomed all and said that the duration of the meeting would be for
just 2hrs, though the meeting did not commence at exactly 8:00am as scheduled. He requested the new
parents attending the PTF Meeting for the first time to introduce themselves and also welcomed returnee
parents back to school.
READING OF THE MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
The minutes of the last meeting was read by the Secretary, Mrs. Obayojie Oluranti. The minute was
adopted by Mrs. Olasumbo Danmole Kumuyi and Mr. Johnson Oluwagbemiga seconded the adoption
of the minutes subject to all correction made during the meeting.
MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING:
PTF FEE:
The chairman thanked all parents who were committed to paying the PTF levy. He also stated that the rate
at which parents pay school fees in PTF Account has drastically reduced. He further mentioned that the
level of compliance on payment of PTF Levy had not been encouraging at all. The chairman pleaded that
parents should response positively to the payment of PTF Levy.
REACTIONS:
Mrs. Eniola Oluwole said, she assumed that the PTF Levy was charged with school fees and also
suggested that PTF Levy should be treated the same way school fee issues were treated.
Mrs. Joyce Uhunmwangho said she is surprised that the PTF chairman was cajoling parents to pay up
PTF Levy. She further stated that PTF Levy is compulsory and that children could be penalized for not
paying the Levy.
Mrs. Kumuyi Olasumbo Danmole said she had refused to pay PTF Levy intentionally, because the
former PTF Executives could not justify the need for the PTF Fee in her opinion. But at the last dinner,
she was impressed by the award the present PTF Executive gave to the outstanding students and
promised that her children would not owe PTF levy.
Mr. Johnson Oluwagbemiga said he gave his words in the last meeting that the parents would see
reward for their commitment to PTF. Though covid-19 affected the PTF programmes for the Parents,
Students and the Community. However, the Dinner Award was to set required standard for expectations
and convince parents that the PTF Executives would be more active and that Just as Mrs. Joyce
Uhunmwangho said, PTF Levy was not optional. He added that The PTF could not achieve some of the
outlined programmes with limited fund. The PTF Fee is per child and it is per term. He encouraged
parents to pay up whatever they owed. He assured parents that, value will be received for whatever they
paid for. He said parents could challenge him if value was not received for what was paid for.
The Chairman said the PTF fee is separated from school fee for easy accountability and requested that the
PTF account number be dictated for parents.
PRESENTATION:
As part of the initiative of the PTF and the Management of the School, A knowledge Sharing Session
was held on “Next of Kin” and the presentation was by Barrister Olusegun Otedola. The session was
educative and informative as parents were able to freely interact with Barrister Olusegun Otedola on
matters that boarder on the Next of Kin issue. He mentioned that the next of kin should be somebody
nearest to the kindred (one relation or relative), someone to be contacted in case of emergency, a closes
living blood relatives. He further stated that the Next of Kin is not the person that will own the belongings
of a deceased person but rather the person to be contacted for information. He advised that it should be
someone in the country who is very familiar with the person. There is no deeper legal meaning to Next of
Kin. He advised that every one should ensure a Will is prepared in order to put their house in order.
REACTIONS:
Mrs. Amosu Odunayo said that marriage registry was supposed to be celebrated within Local
Government Area and also asked if letter of administration could be given for a minor.
RESPONSE:
Registry Issue: Barr. Olusegun Otedola said that the judiciary is the only one to interpret the law
and where marriage registry is conducted is left solely in their hands.
Minor being next of kin – letter of administrator should be collected for administration of the
properties by any close relative of the deceased where there is no Will. It is not compulsory that
the next of kin should be the one to apply for it. The wife can also apply. The administrator will
also account for every penny spent.
REACTIONS:
Mrs. Ifeyinwa Oranachu requested to how to address a scenario where there is no will but there
is Next of kin.

Same answer was given as above
REACTION:
Prince Ade Ajayi said information makes transformation adding that a soft copy of the seminar
should be sent to the PTF platform for parents to access.

RESPONSE:
Barr. Olusegun Otedola said that the parents should consult the school authorities for a soft copy
of the seminar.
REACTION
Mrs. Bose Salami asked for what could be done if the Next of kin of a deceased person is a
greedy brother- in- law whose decision would never favour the deceased’s wife or the children.
RESPONSE
Greedy brother-in-law: Barr. Olusegun Otedola said the greedy brother-in-law would not have
power except his name was written in the will. The marriage Act or the Will determines it.

PTF LIBRARY PROJECTS


The chairman said every child would have login-details and would be taught on how to operate it
and that the PTF Executive was waiting for school to plan for training for the students. He also
said that the school wanted to introduce chrome book and that the PTF would partner with the
school to do so.

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES:
The principal in person of Mrs. Adeliyi Temilola welcomed all to the first PTF meeting in 2022.
She appreciated PTF Executives for the PTF Award during the Dinner/Award party and also
blessed God for the beautiful outing. She further added that the award has increased healthy
competition among students.
She read out the last year WAEC / JAMB results for the Academic Session 2020/2021.
Inter-House sports date was also officially announced as Thursday 8 th March, 2022. She outlined
the importance of the inter-house sport and said that the school prepares students in the three
areas of education, which are cognitive, affective & psychomotor. The principal implored parents
to pay up the inter-house sport fee and that it is compulsory for all. She sought for support from
parents concerning the interhouse sports in areas such as donation of trophy. She said that Parents
jersey is #5,000. She said every information concerning graduation will be posted to the platform
of graduating parents. She also announced that solution desk has been created and that parents
should make use of the avenue to forward their complaint. The Gmail was said aloud as

Mrs. Oluwaseun Fakaye said she looked forward to the chrome book and as such wanted to
know how the chrome book will be operated and asked if textbooks would be purchased again,
since the soft copy chrome book will contain all text books.
Chairman said workbook will still be purchased. Mr. Alex. Ogedengbe said he appreciated the
way Mrs. Fakaye outlook on the chrome book

Mrs. Iyiegbuniwe johnpaul said she would appreciate to be properly communicated. She said
sometimes answers to weekend assignment are always wrong and again parent should be well
informed before increment was made school fee. She said there should be improvement on school
bus maintenance and that increment in the Bus fee should not be imposed on parents. She also
said books supply should be done on time. She thanked the school for given feedback on the
arrival time of the school bus and for providing a library.
Mr. Alex. Ogedengbe highlighted different options in running school bus and stated that the
school adopted the system that will favour the parents. The school ensured every bus arrived on
time. He added that the last increase in school fee was done 2019 and the last school fee bill only
scrapped discounts given to some parents and that to parents involved were duly communicated
before resumption.
Mrs. Oranchu Ifeyinwa implored that parents’ jersey should be skin friendly and also said
interhouse sport fee is high. She also said that she was happy about the checkpoint past questions
introduced and complained that teachers were not using the work book. She suggested that PTF
should handle provision of textbooks in the school. She however, thanked the school for the
establishment of the helpline.
Mr. Alex. Ogedengbe said that checkpoint textbooks were imported and it is as a result of
importation that there was a delay in delivery of the textbooks. He added that Literature texts to
be read were not released on time and it was finally released, the school was chasing after
publishers to get it.

Mrs. Joyce Uhunmwangho complained that the school does not offer Yoruba language,
complained that BECE result is accessible by parents and also complained about the phone seized
from her daughter.
Miss. Grabriella Ojei complained that her son’s school bus driver did not pick his son. Although
the principal had looked into the issue but the driver was not ordered to apologise.

Mr. Alex. Ogedengbe said that all complaints must pass through right channel starting from the
principal’s office in order to document issues. Hence, messages sent to the Director are being sent
back to principal’s table which was the proper channel. He assured the parents that all issues
raised would be looked into one after the other. He also said that rules and regulation guide every
organization , parents should be guided by the school rules. He further reiterated that interhouse
sport fee is compulsory and that clearance will not be issued to students who pay school fee
without interhouse sport fee. He assured the parents that the sport fee had been subsidized
N20,000 considering the rate of inflation.
Chairman emphasized that complaints should be sent to solution desk in order to sort out issues
quickly before PTF meeting. Parents should not wait till PTF Meeting to resolve any issue.
MOTION FOR ADJOURNMENT:
Mrs. kalu Blessing moved the motion for the adjournment of the meeting and it was seconded by
Mrs. Tolulope Odogun and Mrs Afesese Animashaun;.
