Our identity is important because it is who we are.

This word “identity”

means
The state or quality of being identical, or the same; sameness

Many times, we may have thoughts about who we are that are contrary
to God’s word. His word tells us the truth about who we are. In essence,
we find out who we are by knowing Him and studying His truth. We are
the same as what His truth says about us. We are not our past, we are
not our mistakes, or faulty perceptions we may have from the influences
of this world. And we most definitely are not who the devil says we are.
He is a liar and the father of lies. These scriptures will help you to renew
your mind to who you really are and cause you to be confident in your
identity in Christ Jesus.
 1. I am a CHILD OF GOD
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to
those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh,
nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12-13 NKJV
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called
children of God! Therefore, the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:14

2. I am a NEW CREATION
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away;
behold, all things have become new. 2nd Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
3. I am FORGIVEN
 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the
riches of His grace Ephesians 1:7 NKJV
4. I am JUSTIFIED
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord

5. I am REDEEMED
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it
is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”) Galatians 3:13 NKJV
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,

6. I am HOLY
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special
people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into
His marvelous light; 1 Peter 2:9 NKJV
7. I am SANCTIFIED
Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I
ordained you a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV
Therefore, Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered
outside the gate. Hebrews 13:12 NKJV

8. I am LOVED
The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting
love; Therefore, with lovingkindness I have drawn you. Jeremiah 31:3 NKJV
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes
in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 NKJV
In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only
begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.  In this is love, not that we
loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 4:9-10 NKJV
For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For
scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

this same attitude as our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ)
13. I am FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works,

and that my soul knows very well. Psalm 139:14 NKJV

14. I am MADE IN HIS LIKENESS AND HIS IMAGE

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them
have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over
all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. Genesis 1:26 NKJV
15. I am the RIGHTEOUSNESS of GOD IN CHRIST JESUS
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become
the righteousness of God in Him. 2nd Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
16. I am God’s AMBASSADOR
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we
implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 2 nd Corinthians 5:20 NKJV
17. I am HIS WORKMANSHIP
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God
prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
18. I am HIS PRIZED POSSESSION
He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation,
became his prized possession. James 1:18 NLT
19. I am VICTORIOUS through JESUS CHRIST
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

20. I am an OVERCOMER

For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory
that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus

21. I am TRIUMPHANT

23. I am HIS LIVING EPISTLE

24. I am a JOINT HEIR WITH JESUS CHRIST

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if
children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with

30. I am ACCEPTED IN THE BELOVED (God’s dear love)

having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the

35. I am SEATED IN HEAVENLY PLACES WITH CHRIST JESUS
