Raising Awareness in Deforestation

Introduction

The DNHS STEM 11 students would like to propose officially to raise

awareness about deforestation for the school this academic year. It has a theme of
“plant and save trees” and intends to find out new ways of logging to counter
deforestation to save our environment and plan strategically for the future of our
country, and to raise awareness among the students regarding the seriousness of
this problem and to investigate better solutions to save and improve the current
situation.

Background
Deforestation is the major environmental issue; it is a criminal disaster. We are
facing today distractions and even death if we continue to destroy natural resources
that support life on earth. Some causes of deforestation are illegal logging,
agricultural expansion, wood extraction, and infrastructures expansion such as road
building and urbanization. And climate change today is already having a negative
impact of our lives, so we need to take even a small action by planting trees. If
every single person planted a tree, it could help the soil capture and store carbon.
Despite not doing such an incredible job as oceans do absorbing around 90% of all
carbon emissions and then suffering the impacts of ocean acidification, trees are
extremely important to help stop climate change. When forests are cut down, much
of that stored carbon is released into the atmosphere again as CO2. This is how
deforestation and forest degradation contribute to global warming. The consensus
among climate scientists is that CO2 from tropical deforestation now makes up less
than 10 percent of global warming pollution.

Project Plan

Ordinary people can help stop deforestation by eating less meat, avoiding
single-use packaging, eating sustainable food, and choosing recycled or
responsibly produced wood products. They can also go paperless at home or in the
office, recycle products, and avoid palm oil and planting trees. We can all be part
of the movement to protect forests. Make choices for forests, nature, and people-
and do so vocally!

Qualification

The organizer of the event is DNHS STEM 11 students. The students have
always been part of the event in the school since before the pandemic came. The
DNHS STEM 11 will hand in hand to help each other to facilitate and coordinate
with the administration for transparency or clarification purposes on making the
world a better place to live in. Taking care of our mother nature is not just a
responsibility, it's a necessity. It's Not just for our daily life’s basis. But for the next
generation to have a better place to live with. And so, we Grade 11 STEM.
Willingly to engage a drastic action to avoid our future with irreversible damage to
major ecosystems and planetary. Our skill is to study and to protect nature by our
words and action, joining our strength together we make the impossible to
possible.

Cost and Benefits

The estimated cost for this proposal is 10,000. In terms of the lot that we are
going to use the government is willing to help us for a good purpose and a better
change. This money can help us conquering the Diplahan National High School
into a better society. This is not much pricey because all of us can have a lot of
benefits with it, through fresh air, living and everything. The World is tired in
Deforestation including the Diplahan, that's why we must plant trees again, so that
we can breathe and rise as a new green environment.
