Feasibility study and analysis of the ability

 to complete a project successfully

 taking into account legal
 economic
 technological
 scheduling
 And other factors
Background
 In 1878, Thomas Alva Edison began
serious research into developing a
practical incandescent lamp and on
October 14, 1878.
incandescent lamp

 The spiral Compact Fluorescent

Lamp (CFL) was invented in 1976
by Edward E. Hammer, an engineer
with General Electric, in response to
the 1973 oil crisis.

Lamp
Definition
 Energy saving lamps are sources of artificial light that
employ advanced technology to reduce the amount
of electricity used to generate light, relative to traditional
filament-burning light bulbs.
 The trend of energy saving light bulbs has been
growing since last several years and people around the
world have managed to cut down on their electricity
bills as much as fifty to sixty taka. The demand of such
energy saving bulbs has been increased and
considering this growing demand various
manufacturing companies have been incepted.

Type Light Bulb
 Classic:
A traditional light bulb shape,
suitable for a variety of fittings.

 Candles:
Flame-shaped bulb, ideal for older-
style light fixtures and chandeliers.

 Spiral & stick:

 Spotlights:
Specially designed bulbs for
bright, targeted spotlights.

 Reflectors:
Ideal for illuminating large areas
with wide beams of light.

 Tubes:
Long cylinder-shaped bulb
(known as fluorescent lighting)
used for functional lighting.
Type of Energy Saving Bulb

Florescent lamps- compact and

regular.
Light emitting diode (LED) bulb
Magnetic induction lamp
Light emitting Electrochemical
cell.
Methodology

 The basis of low watt and high watt energy

saving bulb are manufactures like 5W to
65W.
 Due to the respect of time energy saving
bulb manufacturing technology has
changed.
Limitations
 The most commonly used energy-saving
light bulb is the Compact Fluorescent
Light (CFL). Light-emitting diodes
(LEDs) are increasing in popularity.

 There are limitation of manpower, land

and also other things.

Total Demand
Bangladesh sets a world record – 5 million CFLs
in a day, one bulb at a time. On Saturday, June
19th 2010, at over 1,400 rural and urban
distribution centers spread across 27 districts
about five million high quality CFL bulbs, in
the first round of distribution.

Process Technology

 Outline of process technology

 Availability and proneness
 Comparative technology
 Level of technology
 Availability of manpower
Utility

 Typically use about 25%-80% less energy than

traditional incandescent and it save money.
 Can last 3-25 times longer.
 Installing five low energy light bulbs will cost
about tk1150 and could save as much as tk2250 a
year.
Location

 Proximity to market
 Availability of raw material
 Availability of utility
 Availability of skilled technical
manpower
Location

The location of our project can be in the area of

Kalibazar, Narayanganj.
Proximity to Market

 In Bangladesh the main local markets are in

Dhaka, Chittagong and Khulna.
 It is very easy to cover the local markets.
Availability of raw material
 In fact the raw materials are not available in our
country.
 This place is close to the river port and easy road
transport system.
 It is very easy to collect raw materials.
 So we have to depend on other developed country.
Availability of utility
 To run this plant we need much more transport,
electricity and gas.
 It is very good area to have the proper utilities.
 Because There are lots of electricity generation plant
in Narayangonj area.
 In this area has river so we can easily collect water if
we need.
 So we can say that this place are sweet able to run our
Project.
Manpower

 Manpower are available but Skilled technical

manpower is not available.
 Have to trained few engineers from abroad.
 Extra cost for the project but give us more benefit
in future.
Environmental Impact
 Electromagnetic
Compatibility

 Radio Frequency
Interference

 Electromagnetic
Disturbance
Electromagnetic Compatibility

 Electromagnetic Compatibility - The

ability of an equipment or system to
function satisfactorily in its electromagnetic
environment without introducing intolerable
electromagnetic disturbances to anything in
that environment.
Radio Frequency Interference

Radio Frequency Interference -CFLs

emit radio frequency radiation at
levels that may interfere with various
types of wireless technology. Any
modification to the reception of sound
or picture signals that make them
unacceptable.
Electromagnetic Disturbance

 Electromagnetic Disturbance - Any

electromagnetic phenomenon (or
transmission) which may degrade the
performance of a device, equipment or
system, or adversely affect living or inert
matter.
