Trainee’s Post-Reflection:
Strength Some of my pupils gave good cooperation. Since the teaching
and learning process were conducted virtually via online medium due
to the closing of school during PKPB, only limited activities can be
done online. However, I was able to readjust some of the activity to
fit the online learning context. For example, I sent them link to the
YouTube video they can watch and also few short notes on their
WhatsApp group as a reference for learning and task completion
purposes. I also had them do a short video recording of themselves
sharing two things they can do and two things they cannot do in order
for me to do assess them. Pupils enjoyed doing a short sharing of
themselves in the video as they participated with excitement shown
through their facial expressions and gestures.

Weakness Since it was an online class, all my pupils were using their
parents’ smartphone to follow the class. Therefore, any information
or task given in the group will reach the parents first before they were
informed to the pupils. I think my instructions were quite hard for the
parents and the pupils to understand. There were so many
instructions and parents tended to get confused. As a result, they
sent me back incomplete tasks of their children. Apart from that, due
to certain limitations such as parents busy working and bad line
coverage at their particular area, pupils sent in late their work and
few could not join the class.

Suggestion for For future improvement, I need to give simpler and better
improvement instructions in the group by using easy phrases and words to ease
both parents and pupils’ understanding and to avoid
misunderstanding as well as miscommunication. I was also advised
by mentor to also include a translation of the instructions since they
are also parents who does not understand English language very well
so it may be hard for them to convey the information to their pupils. I
also need to be flexible with the time given by giving chance to pupils
who turned in late for particular reasons.
