1. What are sources of stress you often experience?
- I often feel stress, and my main source of stress is my schoolwork, and when my activities attack me, there are always contributing factors such as sleepless nights, improper eating, and bad daily thought. I am one of those students who is more likely to procrastinate rather than complete assignments on time, because my mind often works better when the deadline is approaching, such as one hour before the deadline. I tried to confront myself on that attitude. I once tried to complete my tasks on time, but I ended up scrolling through my social media accounts or simply lying-in bed, clueless to the tasks in front of me. So, when that time came, I told myself that I will finish it on the deadline day because I am more productive when I procrastinate. However, it makes me stress because I hurry all up my activities, I sleep until 2 a.m. and wake up at 6 a.m. to attend my next class, and I am unable to eat on time due to my heavy workload. It is not good for my health. 2. How do you deal with the stress you experience? - Stress is part of our lives. We live with it, deal with it, and above all worry about it. Actually, when I feel that I am not in control, or I’m having a stressful day, my stress reliever is just listening to old music at night, just sitting on a chair, listening to music, looking at the moon, with wind breeze. With that I can relax, everything will be lifted up. Next is reading love stories, because when I read, I forgot all my problems. Instead of feeling down, I felt a healthy heart and mind. Third, will be getting enough sleep, I gave my body wants and that is to rest. When I sleep enough my stress level will take a nose dive, It restore my energy. Lastly, I buy my food cravings, such as milk tea, pizza, or making Iced coffee as an alternative for milk tea. I know my body needs to be happy and fueled to help my tackle stress. 3. In your own way, how can you help people experience stress? - If I have a friend who is stressed, the first thing I'm going to do is listen to them, because I know that talking things out will help them see things differently and come up with new ideas. Simply being present and listening to them will make a significant difference. Then I'll tell them that everything will be fine and that their stress will pass; time will pass, and things will get better. After that, I'll ask him or her about the things that make him or her happy, because I know that doing things in our comfort zone relieves us of stress and has a therapeutic effect. Lastly, we'll try relaxing techniques such as meditation and mindful breathing exercises to help us both relax. So that I can encourage him / her to take a break from all that stresses him out, such as mindful pauses. Then, if they feel stressed again, they may use or carry out the breathing exercise to regain energy.
