According to the Punjab Local Government Act (PLGA) 2019, the Sahiwal area is
defined as Category B according to its population and is administered by the Municipal
Committee Sahiwal. This legislation gives the MC Sahiwal the authority to develop Site
Development Zones within its jurisdiction. Peri-urban areas identified in Rule 81 of the
Punjab Local Government Land Use Plan (Classification, Reclassification, and
Redevelopment) Rules 2009 would be considered for development as Site
Development Zones. All future Site Development Zones formed by local governments
(LGs) are subject to regulate Site Development Zone Structure Plan. These rules also
give MC Sahiwal the authority to create a Site Development Zone Structure Plan. In
light of these rules, a notification came on 17th September 2021 to develop Site
Development Zone Structure Plan. In the commencement of this notification, a Site
Development Zone of Sahiwal is prepared by Dy. MOP MC Sahiwal and approved by
CO MC Sahiwal.
The Consultant, Urban Mobility Design and Supervision (UMDS) consultant has
prepared a revised version of the Site Development zone Sahiwal (for eight years) and
draft version of it was shared with the Project Management Unit (PMU), PICIIP on 10 th
October, 2022. The salient features of the Revised Site Development Zone are;
The client’s in this regard is requested to review the deliverables shared by the UMDS
Consultant and vet the comments if needed within one week or approve the deliverables if feels
satisfied with the Site Development Zone 2022-2030 Sahiwal.
The comments shared earlier by the PMU, PICIIP have been accommodated in
the revised Land Use Zoning Plan 2020-2045
The Revised Land Use Zoning Plan Sialkot has been prepared in compliance
with ToRs of the Project
The revised Land Use Zoning Plan 2020-2045 also accommodates the Sialkot
Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s comments and final output has been
prepared accordingly
The client is requested to review the revised Draft Land Use Zoning and vet the comments on it
within one week or approve it.
