1. What is the significance of the rule of the law in our government? How does
the government uphold the rule of law?

- The rule of the law is significant in our government because it’s

what gives balance to society. It prohibits any act of abuse, or
illegal doings whilst still enforcing what’s right. They uphold the
rule of law by making sure it’s exercised by its people. Failure to
comply would lead to the punishment they deserve.

2. How does the legislative process ensure the validity of laws?

- The legislative process ensures the validity of laws by making sure

that it went through all layers of government, collecting the
approval of the majority of the congress, and before it’s
implementation, the law reserves the right for the president to
either veto the law or not. If not, just then will it attain validity.
The process is very prestigious and is what provides laws the
validity it needs for it to be followed nationwide.

3. How do the branches of government work together in the creation of laws?

- First and foremost, the legislative process is what creates and

makes sure that the laws that are created and process goes through
 each layer of government, collecting approval, and if the majority
approves, just then will it be passed. Second, the executive branch
enforces the law to its citizens, which is pretty self-explanatory.
Last but certainly not the least, the judicial brunch is the one
responsible for the settlement of controversies and issues regarding
law. It is what covers disputes about law, and those that fail to
follow.

4. How can citizens participate in the legislative proves?

- Citizens can participate in the legislative process by giving out

feedback and making sure that their voice is heard by the
authorities. Either by making rallies, or by the use of modern
equipment like social media and gadgets. Either way, this right is
solely reserved whenever desperately needed.

5. Describe the other powers and responsibilities of Congress. How are these
roles significant in governance?

- The House of Representatives and the Senate are the two chambers
of the Philippine Congress. Both of these have specific authority
over certain matters, including the ability to veto laws. In addition
to being in charge of creating and approving laws, the congress
also has the authority to provide loans, settle debt, and assign and
collect taxes. Additionally, the congress has the authority to amend
or change the constitution, but only after going through a drawn-
out process. Additionally, a president can be impeached by the
congress. Impeachment can only take place if a third of the Senate
votes in favor of it. In essence, the congress has the authority to
determine the course that a nation takes, and the candidates that we
elect have an impact on the outcome.
