Blue Poker 2.

0
By Nathan Kranzo

The original BLUE POKER used 3 cards that kept turning into 4. Three Jokers that KEEP
turning into four. Many people prefer this version for its simplicity and easy to follow nature. I
still like the original idea of 3 jokers that keep appearing so I mention it only so you can make
your own decision. You have been provided with a few roughed cards to get you going.

I think it's interesting to use 4 cards turning into 5. In this way you can start out by simply
casually removing the 4 queens from the deck. In reality you remove the Blue Poker 2.0
cards. : )

This is the easiest, most magical and fastest "repeat" routine there is. I think six cards can
be too many. And all the counting is annoying. Using apparently FOUR cards simplifies it
so even a small child can understand. Plus you don't need to count them. You can just
spread them and SEE how many there are.

The backs of the red cards are roughed and the faces of the blue cards are roughed. Set
up the cards facedown from top to bottom: blue, red, blue, red, blue, red, blue, red. If you
apply pressure you can spread the cards and show FOUR faces then flip them over and
apply the same pressure showing FOUR blue backs.

After this initial display you will always hold the cards so the backs are towards you and
the faces are towards the audience. After you have shown the cards front and back split
one of the rough pairs making it look like an accident as you display FIVE face cards. The
rule is you will always take away the single blue card that has been separated from the red.
Act annoyed and say "sorry, we need FOUR BLUE cards for this trick". Pull that single
blue card out of the fan flashing its back as you do and put it in your pocket, toss it high into
the air or offstage etc. Apply pressure and spread showing FOUR cards once again.
Square the cards and spread splitting another pair showing five as if by accident again.
Repeat the process of extracting the single blue card, flashing its blue back and tossing it
away. REPEAT this sequence until you split the last roughed pair showing five. Extract
the single blue card making sure to once again flash its back as you do. You are now left
with just FOUR cards with red backs. Spread to show FOUR. Then turn them around and
fan to show the red backs. Act completely disgusted and say "Never mind!!! I can't show
you a trick with FOUR RED cards anyway!!!" As you say this show the backs of the cards
and toss them away one at a time with a flourish to end.

The original "six card repeat" trick was created by Tommy Tucker.
