The Immediate Needs Grant (myLakeland log in credentials required) may be available to students
who are enrolled in an active term at Lakeland Community College who have encountered an
unexpected financial hardship in paying for expenses that is preventing them from completing the
semester.
College Credit Plus (CCP) students, Lakeland Community College employees or their dependent(s)
are not eligible for funding.
The maximum amount of assistance is subject to the funds available and the decision of the
immediate needs committee. All awarded immediate needs will be counted as an additional resource
when determining financial aid eligibility.
To apply, students must complete the Immediate Needs Grant Form and include documentation of
the expenses for which they are requesting funding (myLakeland log in credentials required).
You will be notified via your Lakeland email once your application has been reviewed or if additional
information is needed to consider your request.
If you need assistance with rent, mortgage, utilities or food, please see below for resources available
to you.
• Quick, microwaveable food items such as macaroni and cheese, soup, rice bowls, etc.
• Pantry items such as cereal, pasta, tuna kits, applesauce, oatmeal, etc.
• A variety of snack items such as fruit and nut bars, protein bars, granola bars, sandwich
crackers, nuts (peanuts, almonds, cashews), etc.
• Personal hygiene items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, razors, shampoo, toilet
paper, etc.
Stop by the Lakeland Student Service Center on the first floor of A-Building, Room A-1003.

Monday - Thursday | 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Friday | 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Campus Psychologist
Our campus psychologist, Dr. Ken Browner, can provide you with a caring, supportive, confidential,
and professional environment in which to explore your personal challenges and facilitate change.
Services include assessment, short-term personal counseling, short-term couples counseling, referral,
and crisis intervention.
To make an appointment, call the counseling and advising center at 440.525.7200 and ask for
psychological services.
Confidentiality:
Students are often concerned about their privacy when seeking out personal counseling on campus. All
information that a student shares is regarded as confidential. Records are stored separately from your
general college records, and only the campus psychologist has access to them. Information is not
shared with outside parties unless permission to do so is given by the student. However, if there is a
serious threat of harm to yourself or someone else, it may be required by law to share information with
an outside party in order to ensure your safety. If you have any questions regarding confidentiality of
psychological services, please feel free to discuss them with Dr. Browner at any time.
