A desire to extend my knowledge and inspiration to solve demanding problems faced by the industries

today motivated me to pursue Master’s in Business Administration. I believe that my educational

background has inculcated in me the fundamentals and the qualities required to meet the rigor of this
demanding course, and subsequently, the profession. I bring along with me relevant work experience,
along with a desire to learn, a proclivity for teamwork and leadership, and a zest for challenges.

Based on my inclination towards finance I was placed in one of the largest retail and commercial banks
of UK, Royal Bank of Scotland Group Inc, for a full-time Junior Operations Analyst role. Working with the
Group has introduced me to the importance of providing innovative solutions to satisfy the needs of the
everyday customers of the banking industry. Soon after understanding the working of my process, I
realized that there are some process gapes and gave a process simplification Idea which latter was
implemented in the Blue Works of the process.

I have been blessed to have my father associated with Indian Army. We army brats don’t really belong
to one place. We never lived for more than 3 years in a place, thus I am so adaptive to changes in
environment and can easily and quickly bond with people around me. I grew up in a disciplined
environment, not in a regimented one. Contrary to belief, army kids are not treated like cadets at home.
Yes, there are certain disciplines that are followed in terms of pursuing sports. Consequently, I have
played Hockey at National Level for three consecutive years in my school days, and captained my
school team for the last 2 years. Playing this beautiful team sport has taught me many hard-to-learn
things about teamwork and leadership. Since then I have a very soft corner in my heart for athletics, I
am also an active participant in cyclothons and over the time I have developed a fondness for mountain
bicycles.

I have always believed in giving something back to the society. I remember my mother telling me that
helping others is the rent we have to pay for living on this wonderful planet. That statement had a
profound impact on me. I always find ways to help the needy, in college I joined an Initiative called Free
School Under the Bridge as a teaching volunteer to kids in a slum area in Delhi during the weekends.

The reason for doing an MBA is that I want to broaden my skill set, I know I am a bit inclined towards
Finance, but I also feel that to excel in any field of Management I should have a view of all domains that
are involved in a business. I want to do an MBA so that I can learn about every single perspective of
business so I should have a Marketing Perspective, I should have a Sales Perspective, I should have a
Supple Chain Perspective and I should know how Operations Work. And I think an MBA would definitely
help me acquiring these skill sets.

In the near future, I see myself working at a senior management position of a reputed company where I
would get an opportunity to solve some of the major challenges of the industry. I seriously consider
pursuing a Doctoral Program (PhD) at a later stage, in order to further my knowledge of the
industry.Towards this, I chose to pursue PGP of IIM-V primarily because the school’s strength lies in its
program structure, faculty and intellectual property. Hence would help me achieve my career goals.
