ITEM AND PROCEDURE MH A B

4.1 Inspect tail landing gear tire for wear, cuts and cracks. Check tire pressure 0.1 B
with a gauge. Service as necessary.
4.2 Inspect tail landing gear shock strut and yoke area as follows: 0.3 B
Check wire strike deflector for security and damage.
Remove right or left side tail cone access panel.
Inspect pylon step fitting.
Inspect cable guide.
Inspect shock strut for leaks, dirt, corrosion and strut under inflation.
Inspect shock strut attachment points for chafing, damage, cracks, and
security.
Paying special attention, wipe clean and lube exposed portions of strut
pistons.
Install access panel.
4.3 Inspect tail cone exterior as follows: 0.2 A B
Inspect skin for corrosion, dents, cracks, and missing rivets.
Check skin drain hole for obstruction.
Inspect lower anti-collision light for security. Check lens for cracks,
breakage, and cleanliness.
Check chaff and flare dispenser payload modules and mounts for
condition, security, corrosion and cleanliness.
4.4 Inspect all area No. 4 antennas for cracks, dents, scratches, cleanliness, 0.2 A B
and missing attachment hardware.
4.5 Inspect for foreign object damage and ensure all access panels, cowlings, 0.1 A B
and doors opened or removed for this inspection are closed or installed.
