Essay on methods to improve literacy standards

For some years, many students have found (it) extremely difficult to find motivation to read a
book for school or in their leisure time. Some of the reasons for the reduction of literacy levels
among kids and teenagers could be thinking that it is an obligation and that they do not do it
for pleasure, and maybe because they cannot find a way to access to these due to the(their)
high cost of the books. Finding ways to improve the literacy standard is a problem that the
school should address.

One possible idea is sending a survey to every student so that they could choose what
literacy gender (genrer)they want to read in their school year. It will help the institute
authorities to choose a book (books) that kids and teenagers like, and that is how we can
change the thoughts about reading as an obligation. Furthermore, it will improve the writing
level as a result of starting to read frequently.

Another idea is giving every learner an e-book where they can find a variety of books and
writing programmes. Although it can be expensive(costly) for the school, it is a good way to
encourage those kids that can not buy these things due to the high cost. Moreover, I think that
using technology as a way of learning will motivate them to learn.

In conclusion, I think that the best solution is sending the (a) survey to the students and after
that choose the best books to start the literacy improvement among everyone in the school.
However, in my opinion the e-books are not a bad idea, but they are a little expensive.
