C. ESSAY
1.

In what ways do scientific institutions established by the government would alleviate the economic
condition of the Filipino people?

This prioritization makes the country competitive in innovation and self-sustaining development that
will allow the economy to lean on its own production, making international trade an addition to a
many of the aforementioned positive effects. More people will have new technology in order to
produce better agricultural and aquatic products. More ways to process these products to make
export quality end products. Therefore, improving upon the economic status, especially now.
2. How do you describe the current state of science education in the Philippines and the scientific
literacy of its people?

In terms of scientific literacy, people would rather believe in magic, visions, doctor quacks and won’t
heed the warnings of actual scientists. One example of this is during the beginning pandemic, there
are still some people, especially in the government who didn’t heed the advice of the doctors to
shut down borders, for the reasons that the other countries might find offense to it. The end result
is a pandemic we barely managed to live through.

it is also a sad sight to see that people would rather believe in religion, which there are no problems
in believing in, than actual facts. Science had become a thing they’d rather not know as it might not
conform to whatever they initially believed in.
