I’m gonna be talking about a family member of whom I’ve al-

Father
- breadwinner
- occupation/job - teacher - 3 decades - literature
Not a big fan of literature
- However, my father, who is an experienced teacher in the
field guided me for a couple of months since I was strug-
gling with the subject in grade 9.
- Later on, that time Made me have a change of mind -> ap-
plied for a gifted class for literature instead of mathematics.
3 years of studying literature seriously has taught me one thing
that teaching literature is no walk in the park.
- it’s rather easy to make a boring lesson and somehow my fa-
ther has managed to produce both productive and stimulat-
ing lessons for his students over the past 30 years.
- And that is something I have to take a lot of pride in him.
- As a matter of fact, if it weren’t for him, I could loathe liter-
ature for my whole high school journey because I’ve seen
some of the teachers carrying out their lessons and I gotta
say that I haven’t been impressed.

high school
started making money from her small business at home
Make a killing out of it
Somehow, in the back of her head, she told me she wanted to Drop out.
I was completely appalled and at a loss for words for a few minutes to
comprehend what she just said.
After thinking things through in my head, I began to persuade her out of
dropping out.
I laid out some pretty well-reasoned benefits of finishing a high school ed-
ucation and enrolling in higher education. (SUCH AS having a job with a
stable income)
At first, I could sense that she already made up her mind and things
wouldn’t change.
However, after around half an hour, I had to bring out my A game that I
told her that she and I would not be friends anymore if she went down that
road.
She looked at me a bit shocked.
I knew it because I know that she truly values our friendship and if she had
let that happen, I wouldn’t have minded looking at her as a stranger.
Later on, she finally had a change of heart and decided to enroll in the
same university as mine.
