Dear Student,
Welcome to LUMS!
The Residence Office at the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) supports the academic mission of
LUMS by providing a well-maintained residential environment for students. The atmosphere
provides learning, respect and appreciates individual differences and promotes a sense of
community among students.
The Residence Office deals with all aspects of on-campus residence, including student housing,
room repairs /maintenance and general queries.
The Residence staff ensures that students stay safe, comfortable and enjoy their on-campus
residence. To ensure prime services round the clock for our resident students, all 13 residential
buildings are now managed by helpful, alert housing officers during the night hours as well.
There are 06 hostels for female and 07 hostels for male students.
Note: Hostel fee will not be reimbursed after hostel check-in as well.
HOSTEL ROOM
Rooms are equipped with a single bed, mattress, wardrobe/closet, small bookcase or shelf,
Ceiling/pedestal fan and a computer port outlet.
Miscellaneous Information:
Bed size: 36"x80" (x-long twin size)
Optional Items (If required, extra cost will be charged for using these appliances)
Room size refrigerator (5 cubic feet; monthly charges will be Rs. 1,000/-)
Electrical Fan heater (monthly charges Rs. 2,500/-); Rod heaters are not allowed.
Before using the appliance, student must coordinate with housing officer of the relevant
building to get it registered.

Hostel check-in of all Freshmen-UG (1 st year students) will be conducted on Saturday, 27th
August 2022 and Sunday, 28th August- 2022 from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. You may also complete
hostel check-in within one week of the announced date of check-in, after that room allotment
will be cancelled. In case you do not need hostel accommodation then you must inform
residence office via email at residence@lums.edu.pk before commencement of classes. Any
request regarding cancellation of hostel accommodation received after commencement of
classes will not be entertained. (Note: Hostel fee will not be reimbursed after hostel check-in as
well).
At the time of hostel check-in, student must bring CNIC and Smart Card (will be issued at
registration desk of LUMS on the date of check-in).
In Hostel, on duty housing officer will provide you two documents for signature; a) On Campus
Residence Agreement; b) Indemnity Form, kindly read these documents carefully and sign both
documents.
Due to ongoing pandemic, all necessary measures have been taken up by university and
residence office to provide safe and secure environment to our students in hostels, however, it
is the responsibility of every individual on campus including students to ensure compliance of
safety protocols for the wellbeing of everyone on campus.
Living on-campus is a wonderful and exciting experience and we hope that it will become a
memorable experience for you, and you will enjoy your stay in new home.
