value of the following. (Foreign 2016)
(a) Energy stored in 12 pF capacitor.
(b) Energy stored in 3 pF capacitor.
(c) Total energy drawn from the battery.

14. A capacitor of unknown capacitance is connected across a battery of V volts. The charge stored
in it is 360 μC. When the potential across the capacitor is reduced by 120 V, the charge stored in
it becomes 120 μC. Calculate:
(i) The potential V and the unknown capacitance C.
(ii) What will be the charge stored in the capacitor, if the voltage applied had increased by 120

15. A charge Q is distributed over the surfaces of two concentric hollow spheres of radii r and R (R
>> r), such that their surface charge densities are equal. Derive the expression for the potential at
the common center.

18. A thin metallic spherical shell of radius R carries a charge Q on its surface. A point
charge is placed at its center C and another charge +2Q. outside the shell, at a distance r from the
center as shown in the figure. Find (i) the force on the charge at the center of the shell and at the

19. Find equivalent capacitance between A and B in the combination given below. Each
