How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

☐ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.

☐ X Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic of
learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☐ X Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to
demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.

it via an outside source.)
Lesson idea implementation:
The lesson will begin with students listening to the podcast to elicit student engagement on what is
to come the following week. Students will start off by using the storyboard template to put down
their ideas for the video or podcast. Students are going to do this with their group members, and I
will check with each group to ensure that everyone is on task and working in the right direction.
Students will gather information about their group number questions and will bring it to class on
Monday. Students will use that to either create a podcast or create an adobe express video. I will
introduce both tools by showing them an example of one that I have already created. I will guide
them and assist them with any questions that they have, however, this will be student-led. Students
will be able to work with their group members on this project. I will conclude the lesson by allowing
students to share their work with other groups if they so choose. Each group will receive feedback
from me as a whole and from their other group members on their individual contributions.
Managing student learning: Students will transition from passive to active social learners by actively
participating in creating either a podcast or adobe video. Students will participate in co-engagement
by working with group members
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: Be sure to mention one specific UDL principle you
are focused on in this lesson – Multiple Means of Engagement, Multiple Means of Representation,
or Multiple Means of Action & Expression.
Reflect upon the activity you have planned for the students. The technology tool you selected for
this lesson idea should support ALL students. How does this activity and the technology tools you
selected support and enhance the learning experience for students in the classroom? Support your
argument using at least one of the following principles of UDL: How does this tool support
Engagement, Representation or Action and Expression components of the UDL framework?
My students will be asked to create a podcast or adobe video as a group. This will allow students to
learn how to use the specific technology tool, while incorporating the standard(s). This lesson will
support and enhance the learning experience of my students by satisfying higher order bloom’s
taxonomy levels and allowing students to create, learn, and explore. This lesson specifically pertains
to multiple means of action and expression. Students can collaborate with their peers and are able
to choose how they create their product. It is also important that students provide accessibility, such
as a transcript to support students that need it.
Reflection: I really enjoyed creating this lesson and I truly feel that students will enjoy creating a
podcast or adobe video. Students are much more receptive to active learning and are much more
likely to deeply understand the material. I am most excited to see what my students can produce
and create as a group. My favorite part of the lesson will be teaching students how to use the
different tools. It is so important to familiarize students with technology tools that can enhance their
learning and make learning fun!
