2 OBJECTIVE

1. To determine broad parameters of EHS management at site.


2. Establish & define individual responsibilities, hazard prevention & safety promotion responsibility at
each level of the construction team.
3. Identify highly hazardous operations within the scope of work and specify integrated preventive
measures to mitigate the same.
4. To ensure compliance with relevant applicable legislation.
5. Continual EHS performance improvement by directing focus on the key areas for improvement in a
consistent manner.

4 LEADERSHIP AND COMMITMENT

L&T Infrastructure IC Senior Management provides demonstrable management leadership and commitment
through active participation in EHS activities.
Their leadership and commitments translate into necessary resources to develop, operate and maintain L&T
Infrastructure IC EHS Management System and to attain EHS Policy and legal requirements.
We are committed to manage all its activities, risks to ‘As Low As Reasonably Practicable’ (ALARP).

4.1 Visibility
The management will provide strong demonstrable visible leadership and commitments towards EHS by
personal example and action. The Management will participate in EHS meetings, conduct site Inspections
and EHS Audits, to encourage a positive attitude towards EHS.

5 EHS POLICY

A copy of EHS Policy shall be attached.


All staff and employees shall be made aware of the existence of this policy by discussing in EHS meetings,
displaying at Project offices, notice boards, workmen camp, canteen and conspicuous locations.

6 INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

L&T INFRASTRUCTURE IC EHS Management system is established meeting the international standards - OHSAS
18001:2007, ISO 14001:2004 & ISO 9001:2008.

7 RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND ORGANISATION CHART

EHSO deployment
CEHSM decides the number of EHSO required to cater the EHS requirement of a project in consultation with
HOD-EHS & PM.
EHS steward deployment
EHS Steward shall be engaged depending on area, criticality of the work carried and work force. Number of EHS
steward may be increased depending upon the risk and work force.

An organisation chart is made site specific.

8 RESPONSIBILITIES

EHS management is a line responsibility requiring active participation of all levels of management & supervision.
Individual EHS roles and responsibilities, along with task and target shall be distributed to the individuals for
action, as described below.

This section shall give a matrix of applicable Training versus category of peoples. Typical Matrix is given in
Annexure B, shall be made site specific.

18 COMMUNICATION AND REPORTING

Cascading any EHS messages down the line is vital for the success of any EHS Management System and to ensure
