Road and Driving Safety

Introduction:
Driving motorcycle is part of our daily routine. Motorcycle is our main means of
transportation in conducting our daily transactions. Accidents are unpredictable but evitable, thus
this training will help each individual to gain additional knowledge and fully understand the dos and
don’ts in safety measures in driving.

Objective:
 Discuss the elements of a Driver Safety Program
 Discuss each of the leading causes of vehicular accidents and injuries
 Explain the 5 habits of defensive driving
 Understand the various defensive driving tactics
 Understand the road signs

Learning Outcome:
 The participants will be fully aware, knowledgeable and will practice safety driving.
 Participants can also identify the road signs and their functions.

Course Content/ Topics:

 Driver Safety Program
 The Fatal Five (5 leading causes of motor vehicle accidents)
 Defensive Driving (The 5 to survive)
 Various Defensive Tactics
 Road signs

Time Allocated:
Maximum of one (1) hour per topic

Teaching/ Learning Activities for each topic:

 Awareness: Traffic is dangerous and hurts people
 Behavior: Rules you can follow to stay safe
 Choice: How to make the safest choices and help others stay safe too

Evaluation Method/ Tools to be used:

At the end of the discussion, the resource speaker will give an assessment of each
participant's understanding by conducting a quiz.
