STATISTICS
Of the infectious disease

From the statistic, we notice that there

are 7 main type for communicable
disease known as :

1. Food and Water Borne Diseases

2. Vaccine Preventable Disease
3. Vector Borne Diseases
4. Tuberculosis/Leprosy
5. Sexually Transmitted Infections
6. Zoonosis
7. Surveillance

COVID 19 under the Surveillance had

the highest incidence rate of 360.25%
per 100, 000 population

Tuberculosis which under the Tuberculosis/Leprosy is the

main cause of death for Malaysian with 7.12% mortality
rate.
MOST COMMON DISEASE
in Malaysia

Covid-19
01 Highest incidence rate of 360.25% with 1.48% mortality rate
per 100, 000 population.

Dengue Fever
02 Dengue fever placed second with 276.11% incidence rate
and 0% mortality rate per 100, 000 population.

TYPES, CAUSE & PREVENTION
Of Disease Transmission

TYPES
1. Direct 2. Indirect
The disease is passed directly Occurs when a disease is transmitted from
from one infected person or one infected person to another despite the
animal to another. fact that the two people have had no direct
contact.

3. Vector
Requires the transmission of a disease from an animal or person to another organism.
This sort of zoonotic (animal to person) transmission is distinct from direct zoonosis,
which occurs when a vertebrate animal develops a disease and transmits it to a person
directly, as is the case with rabies.
TYPES, CAUSE & PREVENTION
Of Disease Transmission

CAUSE 01 Direct Transmission

1. Person-To-Person
When an infected person touches or exchanges body fluids with another person,
person-to-person transmission can occur. Kissing, for example, is one method of
person-to-person transmission. A pregnant woman can also transmit a disease to her
unborn child.

2. Droplets
Some diseases are spread through coughing or sneezing, which can cause infectious
agent-containing droplets to land on nearby people.
TYPES, CAUSE & PREVENTION
Of Disease Transmission

CAUSE 02 Indirect Transmission

1. Fecal-Oral
Fecal-oral transmission happens when little amounts of feces—often from an infected
person or animal—are spread from one person to another by mouth.

CAUSE 02 Indirect Transmission

2. Airborne
When an infected person sneezes, coughs, laughs, or even just breathes, an
infectious agent may occasionally enter the air and hang there for a while.

Of Disease Transmission

CAUSE 02 Indirect Transmission

3. Fomites
a nonliving thing that is used to spread an infectious disease from a sick person to a
healthy one. For instance, a water fountain could get contaminated with an infected
person's saliva and spread that sickness to anyone who drinks from it.
TYPES, CAUSE & PREVENTION
Of Disease Transmission

CAUSE 03 Vector

1. Insect Bite
Insect bites are the primary method of transmission for vector-borne illnesses. For
instance, when mosquitoes feed on humans who have dengue fever, they pick up the
parasites that cause the disease, which they then spread to other people when they
feed again.
TYPES, CAUSE & PREVENTION
Of Disease Transmission

PREVENTION
1. Person-To-Person
By washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water before, during and after
preparing food, it may helps on preventing disease from transmitted by this type of
transmission.

2. Droplets
Vaccine helps you train your immune system to recognize and combat illnesses from
dangerous invaders. Vaccinations can also prevent diseases that are spread by
droplets.
TYPES, CAUSE & PREVENTION
Of Disease Transmission

PREVENTION
3. Fecal-Oral
Avoid contact with those who are ill with infectious diseases include exchanging
personal goods with them in order to prevent the disease from spreading by this type
of transmission.

4. Airbone
Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze, cough & otherwise, to prevent the
contagious spread of infectious diseases to others.
TYPES, CAUSE & PREVENTION
Of Disease Transmission

PREVENTION
5. Fomites
The risk of fomite transmission can be decreased by both cleaning (using soap or
detergent) and disinfecting (using a product or procedure designed to inactivate SARS-
CoV-2). Cleaning decreases soil (such as dirt, germs, and other organic agents) on
surfaces, but the effectiveness depends on the cleaner used, the cleaning technique,
and how well the cleaning is done.
