ID : 2022136
Section : 01
Course : Electrical & Electronic Circuits Simulation Lab
Course code : 222L
Course instructor : Md.Iftadul Islam Sakib
Objective:

➢ Simulate and analyze HPF and LPF

Apparatus:
➢ PSIM software
Theory:
➢ Passive filters
A passive filter part could be a combination of capacitors and
inductors that square measure tuned to resonate at one
frequency, or through a band of frequencies. In power
systems, passive filters square measure accustomed suppress
harmonic currents and reduce voltage distortion showing in
sensitive components of the system.

➢ High-pass and Low-pass filters

To define a high pass filter is a filter which passes only those signals
whose frequencies are higher than cutoff frequencies and also
attenuating signals of lower frequencies
To define a low pass filter is a filter which passes only those signals
whose frequencies are lower than cutoff frequencies and also
attenuating signals of higher frequencies

➢ Cut off frequency

Cutoff frequency is defined as a boundary in a system’s frequency
response at that energy flowing through the system begins to be
attenuated instead of than passing through

Equations:

Cut-off frequency, fc= 2 π RC
