ABSTRACT
The field experiment was conducted to study the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizer on establishment growth &
development of Banana (Musa paradisica) cv. Red Banana, Experiment consisted of 10 treatments with 3 replications
laid in RBD. The treatments included Organic fertilizer Vermicompost 10 kg Per Plant, Farm yard manure (FYM) 10 kg
Per plant, Neem Cake 4 kg Per Plant and inorganic 150 g N, 50 g P2O5 and 300 g K2O as a Recommended dose of
fertilizer (RDF). The results of six month experimentation revealed that the banana establishment growth & survival
percentage shows that the integration of organic and inorganic fertilizer was more effective than the inorganic fertilizers
alone. Among the various combinations was 50 percent RDF through inorganic fertilizers +15.2 kg FYM + 3kg
Vermicompost +1.0 kg Neem cake was found to be the best overall treatments in respect of survival percentage
(89.07%) which may be due to easy breakdown of available nutrients in organic and inorganic sources and easy uptake
by the roots.
Key words : Cake, FYM, Neem, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, survivability, vermicompost.

Banana (Musa spp.) is one of the important fruit crop of the consumption and are higher in starch than bananas. The
tropics. The fruits are rich source of carbohydrate and two groups of plantains, French and Horn, produce fewer
energy. The consumption pattern of banana is increasing fruit per plant than sweet bananas. The groups differ in
day by day due to its nutritional value and high economic whether the male parts of the inflorescence are present or
return. Higher productivity in banana is possible through absent. Organic and inorganic fertilizer management in
