SCENE 1 : GRANDMOTHER TELLING STORY TO HER GRANDCHILDREN


BLACKOUT -

The starting credits are rolling and we hear a conversation.


It's in reverb effect.

GRANDCHILD
Dadi Dadi, kahaani sunao na.

GRAND MOTHER
Kaisi kahaani baccho?

GRANDCHILD 2
Bhoot ki khaani.

GRAND MOTHER
Raja rani ki khaani sunau?

GRANDCHILD
(Both) Nahi dadi, Bhoot ki sunao na.

GRAND MOTHER
Tum dono darr jaaoge.

GRANDCHILD
(both) Nahi darenge .. promise.. Aap
sunao na .. please dadi.

GRAND MOTHER
Thik hai.. Sunati hu. (Pause)(Music
kicks in) Sahyadri ki ghani vadiyon
mein basa ek chotasa gaon tha ...
Asurapur... Shayad hi koi iss gaon ke
baare mein jaanta ho ... kyuki pehle
iska naam Tiwade tha ... Magar kehte
hai ki asuri shaktiyon ka raja, iss
gaon ke samandar ki gehraiyon mein
kahin sadiyon se intezaar kar raha
hai uss din ka jis din iss dharti par
se puri manav jaati ka vinaash hoga.
Aur ek baar phir devo aur danavon ke

karne ke liye. Isse pehle jab yeh

SCENE 1 A : ASURASHASTRA PAGE READING


Doing activities as per the book.

SCENE 2 : WHO ARE THEY? - DARK ROOM

INT. DARK ROOM - NIGHT

PULL BACK SHOT UP-TO FULL SHOT

FADE IN:

A sign/symbol is seen in the frame. CAMERA pulls back slowly


to expose an Earthen water pot on which the symbol is made.

TOP ANGLE

A hand enters the frame and picks up an earthen glass kept


next to the water pot. Then, puts it in the water pot.

CLOSE

As the hand comes out of the earthen pot, we see that the
glass didn't fill with water. It's dry.

EXTREME CLOSE

The woman smiles. (A 40 year old rural woman)

CLOSE

She keeps the glass back where it was before she picked it
up.
TOP ANGLE - PULL BACK TILL FULL

The woman walks back and a man enters the frame. He picks up
the same glass and dips it back into the pot and one by one,
a few people repeat the task and go back.

WIDE

All of them, stand one by one in front of a man who's


standing in front of the woman who was shown first.

CLOSE

The man is a drunkard. With so much drinking, he's only lost


his senses. Next to where he's standing, plated food is kept
on a huge plate. Some alcohol bottles are kept. Some iron
chains, big enough to tie a man, are also kept.

The drunkard keeps talking to himself.

DRUNKARD
Ajun daaru pahijel mala. Salya
dakhavtoch. Murdach padto
aaighalyacha. Mala gharachya baher
kadhtoy? Olkhat nahi nit mala ajun..
Dakhavnar mi tyala. Mala rastyavar
ekta sodlay... Baap mhanayla laaj
vatte salyala.

As he's uttering those words he picks up a chicken piece


kept in front of him in the plate and eats it like he's
never getting to eat again.

FULL

The 7 people who were standing there, all look at the


MUKHIYA, The woman.
MID

Mukhiya gestures with her eyes to one of them.

CLOSE

He nods and takes out a Khanjir which is tied around his


waist.

He walks past the drunkard and approaches a Murti and stands


there.

OS OF THE STATUE

He looks at the Murti, cuts his palm. The blood starts


flowing down. He screams in agony but he proceeds to do it
anyway and then, he puts that blood on the Murti.

SCENE 3 : PRITHVI AND VANSHIKA FIGHT

INT. PRITHVI HOUSE - NIGHT

WIDE

Prithvi is praying to god, near the temple.

Vanshika is irritated by the ghanti. Few moments later, the


ghanti stops.

Prithvi walks towards her with a sweet as Prasad. Gives it


to her.

PRITHVI
Vanshika... Yeh lo.

Vanshika takes it and ignores him. Gets up and walks in her


room.

Prithvi follows her.

PRITHVI (cont'd)
Vanshika, Tum waha nahi jaa rahi.

VANSHIKA
Kya?

PRITHVI
I said, tum nahi jaa rahi.

The diya in the temple, goes out. Prithvi looks at it.

PRITHVI (cont'd)
Oh shit shit shit ...

He puts on the diya.

PRITHVI (cont'd)
Dekha? Aur isse zyada kya explain
karu main?

VANSHIKA
Mat karo.

Lights up a cigarette. Prithvi takes it out from her mouth.


VANSHIKA (cont'd)
Arey kya hai Prithvi? Ghar aate hi
kyu peeche pade ho mere?

PRITHVI
Vanshika tum aisi haalat mein
cigarette nahi pee sakti ...

VANSHIKA
Kya haalat? Kaise haalat? Mujhe
stress hai mujhe peeni hai ... tum
kon hote ho mujhe roknewale?

mein humara baccha hai isiliye rok
raha hu ... aur mujhe bhi takleef
hoti hai.. yeh tumhare smoking ke
wajah se.

VANSHIKA
Tumhe takleef hoti hai toh main smoke
na karu? Aur mujhe stress hai uska
kya?

PRITHVI
Meditation karo.

VANSHIKA
Stop with your bullshit. Tum jaise
mard na kabhi apni biwiyon ko freely
jeene hi nahi doge.

PRITHVI
Freely? (Chuckles) Equality ke naam
pe mujhse ghar ka saara kaam karati
ho tum ... Aur woh bhi main office se
aane ke baad aur tum kehti ho freely
jeene nahi de raha hu?

Vanshika gets angry and leaves for the bedroom.

Prithvi follows.

PRITHVI (cont'd)
Vanshika, tumhara waha jaana itna
necessary kyu hai ?

Vanshika doesn't respond.


PRITHVI (cont'd)
Bolo na.

He pours her a glass of water.

VANSHIKA
Tyagi mere sar pe baitha hai ... usko
ek hafte mein story deni hai .. ek
mahine mein publication mujhse book
maang raha hai ... aur mere paas ab
tak puri story nahi hai.

Vanshika keeps the water glass on the table.

kahaniyaan likhti ho. Bana lo kuch
man ghadat kahani.

VANSHIKA
Itna asaaan lagta hai tumhe? Peechle
8 mahine se wahi koshish kar rahi hu
... nahi sujh raha hai kuch...
everything sounds fake.

PRITHVI
Toh thoda aur kar lo... Tum chaho
toh, Main Tyagi se baat karu?

Vanshika gets irritated and opens her closet to take out


clothes.

Prithvi is frustrated by this point and he lashes out.

PRITHVI (cont'd)
Toh main kya karu Vanshika? Thik hai
chalo ek kaam karte hai. Main tumhare
saath aa jaata hu.

His hand hits the water glass and it spills on Vanshika's


bag. Prithvi sighs.

Vanshika grows furious.

PRITHVI (cont'd)
I'm sorry. Lekin I am coming with you
there is no other way around it.

Vanshika looks at him angrily and he gets the mop.

SCENE 3A : VANSHIKA AND PRITHVI PREGNANCY MUDDA

INT. VANSHIKA'S HOUSE - LATER


WIDE

Vanshika and Prithvi are having dinner. On the dining table.


There's silence on the table.

Prithvi says -

After a week.

PRITHVI
Okay.

Pause.

PRITHVI (cont'd)
Vanshika, we need to talk about this
thing.

VANSHIKA
Listen to me, mera uss baare mein
baat karneka mood nahi hai , Main
waha se aane baad we'll talk over
this.

PRITHVI
Accha toh tumne deicde kar liya?

Vanshika doesn't react.

PRITHVI (cont'd)
Dekho Vanshika, I feel, abhi sahi
waqt hai, iss baare mein baat karne
ka.

VANSHIKA
Humne pehle bhi iss baare mein baat
ki thi ... I'm not ready for this.

PRITHVI
Ready? Seriously? 4 saal ho gaye hai
shaadi ko... Aur kitna time chahiye
tumhe?
VANSHIKA
Shaadi ko kitna time hua hai usse
mujhe koi farak nahi padta ... Mujhe
thoda aur time chahiye ... I am not
ready for this .. aur abhi sirf 6
hafte hi hue hai ... Let's see.

Prithvi breaks.

PRITHVI
let's see matlab? Mujhe clarity do.
Mummy papa ko kya bataunga main.

VANSHIKA
Mummy papa ko kya - ? What a stupid
person you are.

Achha... I am stupid? Yeh career ke
liye thoda aur rukna hai .. yeh tumhe
stupid nahi sound karta?

VANSHIKA
You know what? I'm done with you.

TRACK FOLLOW

Vanshika goes in her room and locks herself in.

A phone rings.

CUT TO:

SCENE 3B : CAR SCENE

INT. CAR - EVENING

CLOSE UP - PHONE

Prithvi is calling.

CLOSE UP - VANSHIKA

Vanshika is annoyed. She hangs up and starts driving ahead.

MID CLOSE

Vanshika is driving and again, her phone rings.

Prithvi is calling.
She snaps and picks up the phone via car dashboard.

VANSHIKA
Agar koi phone nahi utha raha hai ..
toh woh BUSY hai .. yeh tumhe nahi
samajhta kya Prithvi?

PRITHVI
Tum kaha ho? Tum mere saath jaanewali
thi -

VANSHIKA
Gaadi mein hu.

Vanshika says nothing.

PRITHVI
Itni selfish, careless kabse ho gayi
tum? Agar waha jaake bacche ko aur
tumhe kuch ho gaya toh kya karunga
main?

VANSHIKA
Prithvi, I'm done with this. Bas ho
gaya baccha baccha baccha. Yeh bacche
ke wajah se pehle se zyada problems
badh rahi hai ... Main aane ke baad
hum ispe baat karenge ... my decision
is final.

Vanshika hangs up.

She looks at the phone. Then, at the car dashboard and then
bumps her head on the steering wheel. She drives her car off
and the CAMERA remains static and we see a BOARD that says
"Proceed with Caution : Asurapur 1 km".

SCENE 4 : MYSTERIOUS BEACH EVENT

EXT. ROAD - LATE EVENING

WIDE - OF THE BOARD

As we see the board, we hear few men, about 7-8 people


walking. We hear the footsteps.

Juxtaposed with the footsteps we also hear a iron chain


sound. Iron chain being dragged on the road.

The frame is still at the board and we see 7-8 people


entering the frame with a man tied to an iron chain. It's
the drunkard who's being tied to the iron chain.

CLOSE

Drunkard's expressions. He's tied to chains. His hands, legs


are all tied to the chains.

MID CLOSE

CAMERA captures the expressions of all the people that are


walking there. They are scared. We can see that clearly. One
of them has a hen held in his hand and a few of them have
mashaals. All of them are walking in one tone. One single
movement and they're reciting a mantra.

WIDE

They all approach a well in the jungle and stop there. Just
a few yards away from the well, is a tree. One of them,
picks up a rock and keeps it below the tree. Other person,
walks towards it and washes it off. The man who had the hen
in his hand, then approaches the rock.

CLOSE

He keeps the hen on the rock and gestures the other person.

CLOSE

The other person comes towards him with a machete. Hands it


to him and the man holding the hen, takes it. Then looks at
the men who are holding the mashaal.

CLOSE

They gesture him to proceed and we see everyone starts


chanting "Ithna nighun jaa. Ithna nighun jaa. Itha
thambaycha nahi"

CLOSE

Suddenly, a machete strikes on the hen's head and it's


separated from her body. The sound echoes in the whole
jungle. They leave the hen there and they all walk away.

CUT TO:

SCENE 4A : BEACH EVENT - 2

EXT. ROAD - CONTINUOUS

POV - A TREE BRANCH - PAN

We see the men passing a road with the man in iron chains.

MID - FOLLOW

The CAMERA FOLLOWS them from behind and front and soon all
of them reach to the beach.

WIDE

They're on the beach. The mukhiya calls one man standing


next to the drunkard and tells him -

MUKHIYA
Taat karayla ghya.

MID

The man hurries to get the thaali (plate) and they plate it
with food.

WIDE

After the platin, The Mukhiya gestures 3 people to stay


behind and rest of them to follow him along with the
drunkard in the sea.

MID SHOT

When they come very close to the sea, THE MUKHIYA hands the
plate to the drunkard.

MUKHIYA (cont'd)
Jaa... tyala bhuk laagli asal ..
tujhi vaat baghat asal ... tyala
jevan deun ye.

WIDE

Everyone let's him go and hold on to the other end of the


iron chain. The man walks in the sea.

FOLLOW

The man keeps on walking in the sea, to a point where the


water level is above waist high. Suddenly, Mukhiya screams
from behind -

MUKHIYA (cont'd)
Thamb... tithech thamb ek paul bhi
pudha taaku nakos.

CLOSE

Everyone's expression. They're all scared.

MID SHOT

The wind starts to blow wildly. The sea gets violent as if


a Tsunami is about to hit. Everyone starts chanting the
mantra with even more force.

Out of nowhere, the waves then start pulling the drunkard


inside the sea. The plate from his hand, falls in the sea.

CLOSE - MID - FOLLOW

As soon as the plate falls in the sea, those 3 people who


were made to stand back, start dragging the man outside the
sea. When they can't pull him back, everyone else joins the
and all of them start pulling the man out of the sea.

When they are successful in pulling he man out. The sea


erupts a wild, horrifying, scream. As if the monster just
awoke..

Everyone starts running helter skelter.

WIDE (DRONE)

They all run into the jungle somewhere. The camera follows
them and they exit through the road where they see a car
passing through them on the road.

SCENE 5 : INCIDENT BEFORE MEETING SAKHEE AND SAKHEE'S MEET

EXT. ROAD - CONTINUOUS

POV - VANSHIKA

Suddenly, one of those men comes across Vanshika's car and


Vanshika immediately pushes brake on the car.

Accident doesn't happen.

WIDE - FROM OUTSIDE

The man falls and he is scared. He's very scared and he runs
hastily in the jungle.
Vanshika starts cussing out the man.

VANSHIKA
What the fuckkkk!

She pulls the window down.

VANSHIKA (cont'd)
Andhe ho kya? Dikhta nahi hai?
Fucking disgusting people.

She shuts the window and starts the car again.

The car revs but doesn't start.

She tries again.

The car revs but again, it doesn't start. She gets annoyed.
Bangs her hand on the steering wheel.

CUT TO:

WIDE - OUTSIDE

The bonnet of the car is open. There is some smoke coming


from the bonnet. Vanshika looks at the bonnet, realizes
nothing can be done. Walks towards the car's window, takes
her phone and tries dialing someone.

CLOSE UP - PHONE

There is no network in the phone.

MID

She gets more annoyed and frustrated. As she stands closer


to the car, she hears a humming of a song.

FULL SHOT - POV - HISPEED

Vanshika sees a young woman walking towards her. She's


about 24 years old. She's humming the song. She has a tokree
in one hand and a lamp in another. The headlights fall
directly on her.

She walks a little away from the headlight.

MID - HISPEED

Vanshika's reaction.

FULL SHOT
Sakhee approaches Vanshika.

SAKHEE
Kon ga tai tu? Kay karte ithe itkya
raatela?

VANSHIKA
Woh meri gaadi kharab hui hai .. yaha
aas paas koi mechanic hai?

SAKHEE
(Smiles) Mechanic? He gaon hai tai.
Evdhya raatela itha kutr pan firkat
nahi.

VANSHIKA
Kutr what?

VANSHIKA
Mujhe samajh nahi raha hai aap kya
keh rahi hai.

SAKHEE

VANSHIKA
Nahi matlab thoda samajhta hai..
lekin bolne nahi aata .. Lekin - tum
mujhe bata sakti ho yaha koi aisa ho
jisse gaadi thik karne aati ho?

SAKHEE
Asa tar koni mahit nay tai ...
tumhala kutha jaaychay?

VANSHIKA
Asurapur.

SAKHEE
Aava .. mag hech gaon hay ki te.

VANSHIKA
Par yaha board pe 1 km likha hai.

SAKHEE
Aao .. tasa kay nahiye tai .. hech
gaav aahe .. Tumhi asurapur madhech
aahat.

VANSHIKA
Ohhh.
CLOSE

Vanshika's realization.

SAKHEE
Tumhi ek kaam karta ka tai, aaj
raatela majhya itha raha .. sakali
tumhi tumchya kaamala nighun jaa.

VANSHIKA
Nahi .. main idhar hi reh lungi. yaha
kahi hotel bhi nahi hai kya?

SAKHEE
Haan mag haatlet raha .. ithun 10-12

SAKHEE
Ek kaam kara .. gaadi ithech asudya
.. sakalchyala yeun bagha .. aata
chala majhyabarobar .. ithe evdha
raatricha thambna bara nay.

VANSHIKA
Nahi koi baat nahi.. main gaadi ke
andar baith jaaungi..

SAKHEE
Aava .. naka thambu itha .. aika
majha.

VANSHIKA
Matlab?

SAKHEE
Chaliye.

VANSHIKA
Thank you... Main idhar hi rukti hu.
Aap ruki isiliye thank you.

SAKHEE
Thike mag. Thamba ithach. Mya
nighale.

MID

Sakhee leaves from there.


Vanshika is standing close to the car. Suddenly, there is a
disturbance in the nearby bushes.

POV - FROM THE BUSHES

We see Vanshika getting scared.

CLOSE - VANSHIKA

Vanshika fearfully looking there.

Suddenly vanshika turns towards Sakhee and calls her.

VANSHIKA
Ruko.

Sakhee stops. Turns around.

Vanshika catches upto Sakhee after locking her car doors.

SCENE 6 : JUNGLE JOURNEY


WIDE

Sakhee and Vanshika walking towards the CAMERA.

VANSHIKA
Waise, tumhara naam kya hai?

SAKHEE
Mya Sakhee. Ani tumhi?

VANSHIKA
Main Vanshika.

SAKHEE
Changlay .. pan tai ek vicharu ka?

VANSHIKA
Hmm? (nods)

SAKHEE
gaavat kay bara kaam kaadhlat tumhi
tai?
VANSHIKA
Main actually ek writer hu... Matlab
lekhika.

SAKHEE
Haan itna pata hai tai ... shalela
geliye mi bii.

VANSHIKA
Oh Nice. Waise ... main yaha isiliye
aayi thi kyuki maine suna hai yeh
gaav mein bhoot vagera hai..

CLOSE - SAKHEE

Sakhee gives a sharp look to Vanshika and seems angry.


Suddenly, she bursts into laughter.

Hya ugach afwa udvun thevlyat bagha.

VANSHIKA
Toh tum keh rahi ho, yaha bhoot
vagera nahi hai?

SAKHEE
Aisa kuch nahi hai. Itha gaavat ek 7-
8 lokanchi toli aahe.. te hya
saglyachya maaga hayt.

VANSHIKA
Ohhhh! Par kyu? Yeh sab kyu kar rahe
hai iske baare mein kuch pata hai
tumhe?

SAKHEE
Mahitye ki - Tumhala sangte -

people. About 7-8 people. They're scared and also chanting a
mantra.

Suddenly, Sakhee's attention diverts towards them and


Vanshika also looks at them.

Sakhee holds Vanshika and drags her aside in the bushes next
to the road.

their mashaals also falls on Sakhee and Vanshika's faces.

Sakhee's scared. Vanshika notices her fear and gets worried


too.

WIDE

Those men walk away.

Sakhee peeks to see if they're gone and they come out of the
bushes.

SAKHEE
Yahi woh log hai tai jinke baare mein
main aapko bata rahi thi. Accha hua
in log ne hume dekha nahi.

CLOSE - SAKHEE

Sakhee looks at them but hides herself from the mashaals.

CLOSE - REACTION

Vanshika keeps looking at them. The mantras slowly fade out.

SCENE 8 : INTRODUCTION TO SAKHEE'S HOUSE, BABA AND BHAJAN

They're walking on the road. As they're moving forward we


hear a slightly faint BHAJAN sound kicking in. It's coming
from a distance.

Vanshika says nothing. We can see she's thinking about


something.

She puts the cigarette in her mouth as she's speaking.

VANSHIKA

Vanshika triggers the lighter.

Suddenly, Sakhee gasps for breath. She gets scared. She


loses her mind. Vanshika immediately puts the lighter flame
out.

Looking at Sakhee, Vanshika gets scared too.

VANSHIKA (cont'd)
Arey kya hua?

SAKHEE
yeh rakh dijiye tai ... Yeh nahi
chalega .. Majhe ajoba ghari hayt ..

VANSHIKA

Vanshika keeps the lighter back in the pocket and also the

VANSHIKA
Light laga do na.

SAKHEE
Light nahiye tai.

VANSHIKA
Kyu?

SAKHEE
Te 7-8 lok tumhala bolli na ...
tyanni gaavtli vij kapliye .. aakhya

She gets up and walks near the window. Looks outside. There

window. Tries to search for network. She gets the network.

hear me?

Vanshika is scared. She drops the phone. She's screaming


Prithvi's name.

VANSHIKA

VANSHIKA

with Sakhee when they were outside.

She immediately rushes and goes outside.

Sakhee is sitting in the padwi and she's making a gajra.

Sakhee closes all the doors and windows in the house and
comes back to where Vanshika was sitting. Sakhee is still
panicking.

Vanshika seems a little calm comparatively.

Sakhee, tum ek kaam karo .. Tum baith
jao. Main tumhare liye paani laati
hu.

FOLLOW

We follow Vanshika in the kitchen. She sees around to see if


there's anything. Her eyes fall on an earthen pot. She
approaches it. There is no glass around her except that
earthen glass. She takes the glass. Puts it in the pot.

There is a huge lightning outside.

The light causes the exposure of the symbol on the pot.

She takes out the glass and there is no water in it.

SAKHEE (VO)
Yeh gaon hai tai. Yaha police station
sirf naam ke hote hai. Uske baad
maine jaise taise khud ko sambhal
liya lekin kuch mahino baad main
waapas pet se rahi ... 9 mahine
unhone mera bohot khayal rakha...
Phool ki tarah rakha kyuki unhe abhi
meri kokh mein unka faida dikh raha
tha ... Unke parivar ka waaris.

VANSHIKA
Phir woh - ?

SAKHEE
Mujhe waapas ladki hui... Sab itne
niraash the ki unhe vishwas nahi ho
raha tha ... Phir unhone mujhe aur
mera bacchi ko waapas dur kar diya ..
mujhe maar maar ke yaha leke aaye.

WIDE
Sakhee is playing with the baby at their home. RAJAN is
standing on the door of the house, tensed. His mother and
father are standing there angrily.

CUT TO:

CLOSE - HYPERSPEED

Sakhee's mother in law snatches the kid from Sakhee's hand.

Sakhee pleading to her.

RAJAN then takes his mother outside.

RAJAN's father slaps Sakhee and asks her to sit inside and
locks the door.

MUSIC + SFX - Sakhee's crying is juxtaposed with Baby's


crying.

Sakhee is crying. Pleading to them. Screaming. But there is


no one in the house.

CUT TO:

EXT. A DUG UP PLACE IN THE VILLAGE - CONTINUOUS

WIDE - HYPERSPEED

Rajan puts the baby inside the dig.

The sound of the baby crying intensifies.

CUT TO:

They walk away from there.

CUT TO:

INT. SAKHEE'S HUSBAND'S HOUSE - DAY

MID

Sakhee is making food. She has dark circles and she looks
drained out.

CUT TO:

MID
Rajan's mother and his father both take care of Sakhee and
so does her husband.

Rajan taking care of Sakhee. Putting gajra in her hair.


Kissing her on the forehead.

CUT TO:

MID

Rajan comes home and sits outside. He's devastated. He then


walks in, we see Sakhee playing with her second child.

Rajan's mother comes out of the room. She looks at Rajan and
looks at the baby and Sakhee.

Rajan's father comes out by then. He's watching all this.

Kay jhala? Asa ka baghtayt sagle?

Rajan immediately slaps her.

Sakhee falls.

RAJAN
Ek porga magitla hota tujhyakde
phakta...

WIDE - HYPERSPEED

Sakhee tries to run but Rajan keeps hitting her. Bangs her
head on the wall. Pushes her.

Ties a scarf around her neck and starts dragging her out.

CUT TO:

EXT. HOUSE - LATER

WIDE

Rajan drags her to the house.

CLOSE

Sakhee is bruised badly. Her lips are bleeding. She has an


injury on the head and her clothes are halfway torn.
Rajan is followed by a few people from the village.

SAKHEE
Baba ... baba. (with her drained out
energy)

MID

Sakhee's father opens the door to this horrific site.

He looks at his daughter and his son-in-law, he starts


crying.

SLIDE FOLLOW

He runs towards his daughter and holds her head pleading for
help.

SAKHEE'S FATHER
(to Sakhee's mother

Tai tumhi samjhava na hyanna.

MOTHER
Kay samjhavaycha? Chukicha kay boltoy
toh? Amhi lokanna tond kasa dakhavnar
... Ek vanshacha diva zar deta yet
nasel tar amhi kashala hila posu?
Nusta natta thatta karayla pahije ..

Rajan kicks Sakhee.

RAJAN
Rastyat loka mala boltat te baghun
tula maja yete na? Mhanun hila
bandhlas na majhya galyat?

Rajan again hits Sakhee.

Sakhee's father tries to shield her.


Rajan finally kicks him for the last time and they all walk
away.

Sakhee's father tries walking her up. She's bleeding from


down there, head and even some cuts on her body.

Her father cries.

Sakhee is shedding some tears.

Vanshika is sitting right in front of her. She gets up and


hugs her.

VANSHIKA
I am sorry sakhee...Main samajh sakti
hu tumpe kya beet rahi hogi ...

SAKHEE
Aap nahi samjha sakogi tai. Ek maa ke
dard ko sirf ek maa hi samjh sakti
hai...

VANSHIKA
Mai samjh sakti hun... (She touches
her stomach)

Sakhee looks at her hand and wipes all the tears and
immediately turns her expression from sad to excited.

SAKHEE
Sach mein? Arey tai aapne pehle kyu
nahi bataya. Aap ek kaam kjjiye aaap
let jaaiye. Rukiye main acha wala
takiya deti hu -

VANSHIKA
Sakhee, It's okay.

SAKHEE
Arey nahi tai aap so jaaiye..
Sakhee tucks Vanshika in the bed and says -

Sakhee goes near the door and opens it.

Asur murti and a book is kept in front of that Murti. It is
a half book.

tyachyapasna vachaychay tari bi tyala
pujavach lagta...

TOP ANGLE - MID

WE SEE THE COVER OF THE BOOK.. "ASURAHA SHASTRA". THE


Mukhiya opens the book and a lightning strikes outside.

We see the first page on which there is a sketch of fight


between the gods and the demons. There is a mantra on the
first page. The female mukhiya reads it out loud and
everyone starts chanting behind her.

TOP ANGLE - MID

She turns the page and we see the sketch of the DEFEATED
DEMON who is sent back into waters. Gods rule the world now.
And another mantra is written on the second page the MUKHIYA
reads it out loud and everyone starts chanting behind her.

FADE OUT

SCENE 20 : VANSHIKA AND SAKHEE LATER CONVERSATION

INT. HOUSE - VANSHIKA'S ROOM - LATER

Vanshika is on the COT. She's laying down and discussing her


personal life with Sakhee.

VANSHIKA
Mujhe pregnancy se koi takleef nahi
hai ... bas iss wajah se mera career
affect kar raha hai... Isiliye mujhe
itne jaldi baccha nahi chahiye tha.

CLOSE - SAKHEE

SAKHEE
(hesitates) Jab yeh baccha aajayega
na .. tab aapke zindagi mein bohot
khushi laayega.

Vanshika hesitates a little and then says -

VANSHIKA
Haan sure.

MID - BED - FRONTAL - CHARGE

Vanshika sleeps and Sakhee sits next to her. She taps on her
head and starts singing lori.

THE FRAME CHARGES On vanshika's face.

After a point, The frame becomes CLOSEUP and Sakhee's hand


gets vanished from the frame.

As the frame is getting charged, Sakhee's tune slowly fades


out as if it's going in the distance.

EXTREME CLOSE UP - VANSHIKA

The tune now sounds very distant and Suddenly Sakhee's hand
again comes in the frame and pats vanshika's head.

Vanshika gets scared and she gets up.


SAKHEE
Kay jhala tai?

VANSHIKA
Tum abhi bahar gayi thi na?

SAKHEE
Nahi tai.. main yahi thi. Aap so
jaaiye.

We see the book's last page on which there is a diagram of


process of 3 A.M. activities is shown. They are also
chanting the mantra written on that page.

CLOSE

After the mantra, mukhiya closes the book and ask those
people to follow the process.

FEMALE MUKHIYA
Kahihi zal tari bi. Tya porila ghara
bahetr padun deu naka. tumhi pudhe
vha. Me yete.

As she says this, she handsover the book to male mukhiya. He


takes it, bows before her, he looks at those men and asks
them to follow him.

MUKHIYA
Chala.

CUT TO:

SCENE 22 : INTRODUCTION TO FOURTH ELEMENT (DEATH)

INT. HOUSE - VANSHIKA'S ROOM - NIGHT


CLOSE

Vanshika opens her eyes. She gets up, sits on the cot. The
room is completely dark. She is looking around for sakhee.
Sakhee is no where in that room. She is feeling suffocated.
She gets up and opens the window. There is nobody outside.
She feels relaxed as she is about to turn, somebody falls
from the first floor outside and Vanshika turns around to
see what happened. She sees that there is no one outside.
And it's just raining. She approaches the window and tries
to look outside to see what was that sound about.

She takes a nice look and she then turns back.

Suddenly, she stops and again turns towards the window and
she sees that there is someone standing near the well. From
his attire he seems to be an old man around 65-70 years old.

drenched.

He gets up on the well barricade and stands there.

Vanshika's reaction.

MID

That man is now standing on the well and he turns around to


look at Vanshika and he smiles.

CLOSE

Vanshika is stunned and blank. She can't process what's


happening around her.

MID

Out of nowhere, that man suddenly jumps in the well and we


hear a lightning.

CLOSE

Vanshika gets scared. She gasps for breath. She turns around
and starts running in search of Sakhee.

VANSHIKA
Sakhee ... Sakhheeee.

She comes in the living room.

INT. HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS


There is no response from anyone in the house. Vanshika
gets more scared. She takes a lantern in the hand and walks
across the living room to find her.

INT. HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Vanshika is searching for Sakhee with the lantern in her


hand.

She comes closer to a wall and looks at a painting. She gets


scared.

Gasps for breath.

Exactly at that moment, THE BHAJAN starts from upstairs.

EXT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS


Everyone stops chanting the mantra and they look at the
house. THE MUKHIYA asks them to speed up the process.

The start chanting the mantra even faster and louder.

INT. HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Vanshika takes the lantern and walks upstairs. She climbs


the stairs one by one. As she reaches the penultimate step.
THE BHAJAN stops.

INT. UPPER ROOM - CONTINUOUS

She enters the upper room. And finds no one there. In the
middle of the room she sees a book kept on the vyaspith.

The door of that room is open. There is a fog like white
smoke coming out of it and there is a little light in the
room. Stench is coming from that room.

Sakhee approaches the door.

SAKHEE
Aaiye na.

FRONTAL FOLLOW - VANSHIKA

Vanshika walks towards the door and we see her reaction. She
blankly looks at something. Suddenly, tears start coming
from her eyes. She gasps for breath.

Vanshika looks at a MURTI. It's an ancient murti of ASUR.

We tilt the camera down to see AJOBA's swollen up and rotten


body.

Vanshika tries to scream. She just cries. She can't say


anything. The body is covered with flowers Sakhee got from
the tokree.

SAKHEE (cont'd)
Bagha kiti shant jhoplet.

Vanshiks tries to run away from there but Sakhee is in the


door.

SAKHEE (cont'd)
Bolle hote na mi tai .. ajoba khali
hayt. mag kashapai tumhi var gelat.
Tumhi majha aikatch nahi tai.

VANSHIKA
Kaun ho tum? Tum yeh mere saath kya
kar rahi ho?

SAKHEE

VANSHIKA

SAKHEE
Maine nahi chuna aapko .. Saiba ne

VANSHIKA

SAKHEE
Ayeeeee! Ordu nakos.. Kuthe nahi jaau

VANSHIKA

Sakhee comes closer to her and slaps her hard. Vanshika


screams and falls on the ground, unconscious.

Those people hear Vanshika's scream and they stop their


process. Look at the house. Look at each other.

MAN

Shevatcha ek taas urlay aaplyakda...

INT. HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Vanshika gets scared and she slowly and slowly faints on the
ground.

SCENE 27 : SAKHEE'S PROCESS

INT. HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

CLOSE / MID SHOTS - MONTAGES

BHAJAN STARTS - Music in the background: song - ,saayba


paave (without fast track)

Sakhee opens a box. Takes out a Saree. Looks at herself in


the mirror. Puts on the gajra. Keeps her head on Ajoba's
corpse's chest and laughs. She then worships the MURTI.
Laughs maniacally. Takes out the knife. CUTS her hand and
puts blood on the ASURA'S IDOL (MURTI) and gets up near
Vanshika and sits besides her looks at her in a very fond
and ecstatic way. As she proceeds to tell Vanshika about
the ASUR she puts blood on her face.

SAKHEE
Aaj majha saayba lai khush hoil bgh
tai. Aaj majhya saaybachi takad
vadhel na. Lavkarch tu ani tujh baal
amchya kutumbat yaal. Me khup kush
ahe tai. Aaj mala mothi bahin milel.
Mag apan doghi milun aapla kutumb

She smiles.

In that moment, something catches her attention near the


window. A strong warm light enters the house.

Sakhee gets up and rushes near the window and opens the
window.

She sees that there is a fire being put around the house in
a circle.

DRONE

Fire surrounding the house.

MID

Sakhee gets scared.

SAKHEE (cont'd)
Aye kutryanno. Majhya vatet yaycha
nahi ha ... nighun jaaycha ithna.

MUKHIYA

SAKHEE

Suddenly, Vanshika hits Sakhee on her head with a lantern.

Sakhee falls down on the ground. Vanshika tries to move out


of the house. But the door doesn't open. She smacks hard at
the door. She suddenly realizes something and she goes up
running.

She reaches on the top floor and she realizes she was right.
There is a door open but it leads out to the roof. Vanshika
goes running to the door and as she stands in the door, she
sees those men standing outside.

EXT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS

OS

All of them look at Vanshika.

Vanshika is on the roof. As she's about to come down. The


MUKHIYA screams.

MUKHIYA
Thamb pori. Tithna udi nako maaru.

VANSHIKA
Mujhe please jaane dijiye .. Main
kisiko kuch nahi karungi.

Before Vanshika could say anything, Vanshika jumps off from


the roof. She lands feet first on the ground but her leg

The man alongside MUKHIYA notices that Vanshika's hand is

MUKHIYA looks at her hand and then looks at him.

Mukhiya seems helpless but he nods at that man to proceed.


The man takes out the knife and walks towards Vanshika. As
that man enters the house premise, he faints and falls.

Everyone keep looking at him and then out of nowhere,


SAKHEE's scream can be heard coming from inside the house.

CUT TO:

SCENE 28 : CLIMAX

EXT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS

Everyone look at the house. Door opens.

Sakhee comes out of the house. Stands there and sits down in
the verandah, looks at Vanshika, looks at those people, then
glances at that man who's fallen down and she says -

SAKHEE
Baghitlas tai. Maine kaha tha na
aapko ... yeh log aapke jaan ke
peeche hai. Mujhe toh bas aapke praan
chahiye.

MUKHIYA
Pori ticha kahi aiku nakos. Tula nahi
mahiti hya lokanbaddal kahi.

SAKHEE
Aye kutrya.. pathavlatas na aata tila
marayla aata kay jhala? Dekha aapne
inka dogala pan. Main keh rahi hu
aapse... Yeh seema jaise hi aap paar
karengi yeh log aapko maar daalenge.

MUKHIYA
Asurala pujnari loka hayt hi. Ticha
kay bi aiku nakos. Tujha kaplela
haath baghun amhala vatla tu suddha
sankramitha jhaliyes ... Mhanun
amhala vatla ki paryay nahiye.

SAKHEE
Ho kelay na mi sankramit... jaa aata
gheun.

MAN
Apan hichyavar ishwas nahi theu
shakat ... hini zar sankramit kela
asta tar evdha thambvun thevla nasta
hya porila.

advu nahi shaknar. Tai, andar aajao
hume apna karya pura karna hai.
Bharosa rakho, aapko takleef nahi
hogi .. maine kaha na.. aap ek baar
saiba ko dekh to lijiye ... aapka
vishwas baith jaayega ... Saiba ke
wajah se main aaj zinda hu ... Aapne
andar dadaji ko dekha na .. mere
saiba ne maut ke baad bhi unko zinda
rakha hai ... Lekin woh marte hi nahi
agar unka vishwas pehle se saiba pe
hota ... Bhagwan ko poojte the ... in
logo ki tarah ... Kya diya bhagwan
ne? Dukh. Maut. Jhoot aur yeh
andhera. Toh bas ab isi mein rehna
hai .. yeh humare saiba ki taakad
hai.

VANSHIKA
(crying)Bhaad mein jaao tum aur
tumhara saiba -

Sakhee comes running towards her and grabs her by the neck.

SAKHEE
Majhya saiba la kay bi bolaycha nahi
.. Laayki hay ka tujhi? Tu ashi nahi
aiknar. Chal.

She drags vanshika by her leg inside the house. While she's
coming inside, People standing outside the premise start
throwing rocks on Sakhee. Sakhee is unaffected.

Sakhee drags her inside and shuts the door.


SAKHEE (cont'd)
Aata kutha palnar?

Sakhee makes her sit in the living room.

CLOSE - VANSHIKA

VANSHIKA
Main tumhari baat manungi lekin meri
ek shart hai..

SAKHEE
Ara waah ... Evdhya lavkar

Main tumhe jo chahiye woh dungi lekin
tum sirf mere bacche ko kuch mat
karna.

CLOSE - SAKHEE

Sakhee looks at her angrily and then laughs out loud.

SAKHEE
Tyachi nako ga bai kalji karu tu.
Sagla thik hoil. Ishwas thev. Aata
shanya balasarkhi ithaa basun raha
... palnyacha prayatna karu nakos
nahitar lay mahagat padal .. Kay?

Sakhee gets up and walks in the room where Saiba's Murti is


kept.

Vanshika looks at her go and suddenly rushes upstairs.

She goes towards the Asura shastra book and starts flipping
pages manually. As she reaches the last page we see a
graphic that states "In order to kill Aasurik people, She
will have to put on fire."

Suddenly, she hears Sakhee from behind.

SAKHEE (cont'd)
Tai. Maine kaha tha na bhagiye mat.

Vanshika turns around, looks at her.

Gets scared and she lifts the Asura shastra book and tears
the last page off.
Sakhee screams loudly.

EXT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS

People react to the scream.

INT. HOUSE - UPPER ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Vanshika takes the lighter from her pocket and burns that
page and throws it on Sakhee.

Sakhee gets extremely scared and she calls out her AJOBA and
as she screams his name, Sakhee falls unconscious.

SAKHEE
Ajobaaaaaaaaa.

Vanshika takes the lantern and smashes it on the floor and


tries to run away from there.

She gets down. She screams in pain because her leg is


already troubled.

Just then a gust of wind blows and Everyone's attention goes


towards the well.

CLOSE - WELL

A hand comes in the frame from inside the well.

Then another hand and soon Ajoba emerges from inside the
well.

Everyone gets scared.

The tension on MUKHIYA's face can be clearly seen. He


immediately asks his men to again light up that circle
around the house.

Vanshika hastily tries to approach the men. Suddenly, a man


lights up the premise.

Vanshika is again, stuck in the middle.

CLOSE - AJOBA

AJOBA
Nako jaus Mau. Mala sodun nako jaus.

Vanshika looks at him.

MUKHIYA
Baher ye pori. Ithna baher ye.
As MUKHIYA says that, every person along with him start to
look at him in a confused way.

MUKHIYA (cont'd)
Ye ithna.

Vanshika starts to rush towards them.

HI - SPEED SHOTS

Vanshika approaching the line / the fire.

In a moment, Somehow, Vanshika comes out of the fire and


Ajoba's hand gets burnt in it.

She falls down as she comes out.

People surround her and pour water on her.

Ajoba screams loudly as his soul burns.

CLOSE - VANSHIKA

Vanshika's face lit up with the light coming from the house
fire and this circle of fire.

CUT TO:

SCENE 29 : DARK ROOM - VANSHIKA TEST

INT. DARK ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Vanshika is sitting in a chair. She has a mark on her head.


She's sitting in front of the MURTI and THE FEMALE MUKHIYA.

The female mukhiya gestures Vanshika to follow her.

FEMALE MUKHIYA
(to her people) Jar hya ghadyatna
paani aala tar hya porila maarun
takava laagel.

CLOSE - VANSHIKA

Vanshika gets scared.


Female Mukhiya asks her to put the glass in the Matka. The
Matka has a symbol on it.

CLOSE

Vanshika puts her hand inside the matka. She looks at the
FEMALE MUKHIYA and takes the glass out and turns it upside
down. There is no water.

Vanshika feels relaxed.

The MALE MUKHIYA seems relaxed.

FADE IN:

FOCUS SHIFT

A grandmother is sitting on a sofa. Her two grandchildren


are fast asleep by now. She slowly keeps the heads of the
children down as she gets up and walks towards the MATKA. It
has a symbol on it.

She takes the glass and puts in the matka. Drinks water.
Starts humming her song and looks at the children and walks
out of the frame.

MUSIC CONTINUES - CREDIT ROLL.
