• Hurricanes can be dangerous. Listening to the hur-
ricane warning messages and planning ahead can
reduce the chances of injury or major property
damage. The Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale
is used to determine the potential damage to prop-
erty a hurricane could cause due to the winds. Hur-
ricanes are assigned a category based on the maxi-
mum sustained winds, typically found in the eye
wall of a hurricane. A Category 1 hurricane has sus-
tained wind speeds of 75 to 95 mph. Some dam-
age to roofs, trees and power lines can occur and a
storm surge of 4 to 5 ft. This has been a hurricane

• The youths are taking over once again. Our very
own young people are going to be leading out in
the AY program this afternoon at 4:00 here at
Mount Fortune. The topic is Peer Pressure. So
please come out, support and encourage our
youths as they lead out in this afternoon’s pro-
gram .
• As Seventh -day Adventists Christians, it is im-
portant that equip ourselves with the knowledge
of how to care for ourselves and others in times
of crisis. Hence the New Life Company AY will be
conducting a First-Aid and hands on training in
CPR facilitated by Mr. Steve McDowell. This
takes place today, sabbath, October 10th,
starting at 4:00pm sharp at the New Life Compa-
ny. Be there! Be on time! Be blessed!
• The next New Life Board meeting is scheduled
for Tuesday October 13th, 2020 at the District
Office starting promptly at 7:00pm. The follow-
ing persons are asked to be present at the
meeting as well: Navadeen Campbell, Jeffrey
Augustin, Judica Connor, Colbert Lewis and
Georgena Crawford.
• The Mount Fortune AY will be hosting a movie
night fund-raising social on the evening of Satur-
day , October 31st, 2020. More details will be
given in a subsequent announcement.
• The time we’ve long waited for is here. Our Con-
ference-wide Online Evangelistic series, ‘The
Family’s Hope’ with Pr. Hesketh Matthew begins
today, October 10th and continues until the
31st on YouTube and Facebook. You don’t want
to miss this. Spread the word!
• Please keep in mind that we meet every Sunday
evening at 7:15 for our evangelistic service and
each Wednesday evening at 7:15 for our mid-
week prayer meeting. These services are geared
cial effort to be present.
