Do we share too much personal information on social media websites?

Social media nowadays is a thing almost everybody uses. It is accessible to everyone with a mobile
phone and some of them even come with one pre-installed.
A thing that is very easily forgettable though is the fact that social media can invade our privacy very
easily and it’s our fault, despite the apps also collecting a lot more information than needed.
Uploading images with a tagged location can share where you were and people can track you. Obviously
if you are not somebody famous you are not going to be tracked by anybody, but very famous people
tend to be very careful with what they post on social media.
Posting comments might seem like a harmless idea but having a popular comment draws a lot of
attention to your account. Also, anything you post in a comment is available to anybody to see, even
your blocked contacts!
Becoming famous on social media is also a thing. It is very easy to gain a lot of followers especially on
TikTok due to it’s advanced algorithm that posts your videos to everybody’s feed. If you somehow
become famous, beware, because a lot of people will try to doxx you. That means that they are going to
search every inch of information posted on social media and the internet in general to post online.
People like this either do this for fun or for personal reasons, but be careful.
