German MD / MS Process

for MBBS Doctors

STAGE ONE
PROCESS IN INDIA
A. Document Submission
Doctor has to give all the documents as asked for so that we can submit it
to respective offices in Germany through its German team of translators
and lawyers.

As it’s a long, complicated and expensive procedure it takes around 9

months for our team to get the invitation letter from Ministry of Health of
Germany.Another 2 months will be needed for the Visa approval.

Doctor has to just focus on language training during this time.

B. German Language Training – A1 to B1
Doctors will attend 6 months German language classes from A1 to B1 at
Eduflair in India. In India doctors have to sit for B1 exam at Goethe
Institute or ECL as these are the only language certificates accepted by
German embassy for Visa application.

After passing B1 examination, receiving the invitation letter from Ministry

of Health of Germany, and after getting Visa approval, the doctor can fly to
Germany

B2 and C1 German courses will conducted in Germany. Special training for

language exam at German medical council will also be provided.
STAGE TWO
PROCESS IN GERMANY
A. German Language Training – B2 to C1

B2 and C1 German language courses will be conducted in Germany.

Special training for language exam at German medical council will also be
provided.
B. German Language Exam for Doctors and Jrship
Doctors have to take a language exam directly at the Medical Council of
Germany office. There will be a patient-doctor and doctor-doctor
conversation. It is mainly an oral exam and German doctors directly
check and evaluate the foreign doctors' language skills. Doctor is not
evaluated on the basis of medical knowledge in this exam.

This exam is conducted every 3 months. Doctors can repeat the exam.
Our team will take the appointment of the exam and help in exam
preparation through its native German teachers. Doctors are mostly
passing this exam in one or two attempts.
C. Getting Temporary Licence as a Junior Doctor
Once doctor passes the above exam, he receives 2 years' temporary
licence to start working as a junior doctor in any government hospital. Our
team will immediately forward the CV of the doctor to its partners and
hospitals in Germany. It normally takes 2 months for our team to find a job
as junior doctor.

Doctors will get a full salary of 2700 Euro/month in hand during this time
just like any other German doctor. Doctors can make more money
through over time and night duties.
D. Knowledge Exam for Starting Post Graduation
Within 2 years doctors have to learn as much as they can from their
German colleagues and professor and give the medical knowledge
exam to recognize their Indian Degree. Doctors will have 3 chances to
pass the knowledge exam in their state and have to score 50% marks.
There are coachings available too.

The knowledge exam has been recently made easier as it is just an oral
viva of 2 hours and case presentation. Viva questions involve mainly
clinical cases from internal medicine and general surgery. There are
special books available for preparation. Doctors are passing this exam
mostly in 2nd attempt, success rate is high.
E. Permanent Doctor and Post Graduation
Once a doctor passes the knowledge exam, he becomes a permanent /
licensed doctor in the whole of Germany and becomes eligible to start his PG.

As there is no entrance exam in Germany for PG, our team will directly look for
PG positions and apply (acc to doctors 3 preferred fields) and help in the whole
process through its connections in local hospitals. It is possible to recognise the
time spent as Junior Doctor job in PG period.

Total duration of PG is 5-6 years and all the fields are available. They are directly
super specialisations like Cardiology, Urology, Cardiac surgery, etc. hence 5 years.
Surgical branches 6 years.
ADVANTAGES OF
GERMAN PG PROCESS
v/s
NEET PG / USMLE / UK PLAB
• If the doctor is able to give one year time to learn German language and
pass the language exam, can start working as a doctor in Germany. In
USA, UK you cannot start working as a doctor until you pass all the
exams which takes 2 - 3 years.
• Visa is guaranteed as it is based on documentation and Ministry of
Health approval.
• Simple 90 min oral viva only as knowledge exam. No three exam pattern
like in USA and UK.
• You need very high score and rank in NEET PG to get a good field, US
and UK offer only internal medicine and pediatrics to Indian doctors.
But Germany offers all surgical and non surgical branches.
• After doing MD or MS in India, you need to again give NEET SS to
become a super specialist like Cardiologist, Neurologist,
Neurosurgeon, etc. on the other hand Germany offers directly super
specialisation of 5 years.
• Germany offers high salary during PG, no tuition fees, no classes and
no exams. Only one exam at the end of five years.
• Indian degree not valid anywhere whereas German degree is recognized
in all the 30 countries of Europe. Can come back to India also after
working in UK for 3 years with GMC registration and work in India as a
PG doctor with this registration from UK.
• World class equipment in German hospitals, Indian govt hospitals on the
other hand lack high end equipment for PG resident doctors.
• Private colleges in India charge 80 lacs at least for a PG seat, whereas
Germany offers you 50 lacs per annum salary during PG. Can save 1.5
lacs per month easily.
• Permanent resident card valid for entire Europe is issued after 3 years of
job.
