PRELIMINARY MODULE NO. 1:
ACTIVITY NO. 3:
Are societies in the world becoming more similar (homogenous) or more different (heterogenous)? Give
a specific scenario that supports your answer to the question.

Actually, societies are growing more varied as a result of the availability of a greater variety of goods
and services from all over the globe.... Countries are becoming more and more similar as a result of
the capacity to purchase the same things from any location in the world. For starters, the planet has
shrunk to the size of a town.
My sense is that they are getting increasingly similar to one another with time. This is due to increased
mobility, as well as the internet, which allows individuals from all over the globe to communicate
much more effectively than they could before. in order to make countries more similar, societal values
are becoming more similar globally. For example, see the spread of abortion and gay marriage
legalization in various countries; women becoming president; and brands spreading around the world.
For example, eastern European countries becoming capitalist and beginning to do business with the
rest of the world, which inevitably makes countries more similar. If you look at statistics such as child
mortality rates, educational levels, the participation of women in society, particularly in politics, and
so on, you will notice that they tend to show positive trends, with infant mortality and other such
statistics decreasing even in the least developed societies.
There are a few exceptions to this general rule, though, and they are as follows. Islamic
fundamentalism has taken root in a few nations, and those countries have become less comparable to
the other countries, where secular democracy is the paradigm for development. In addition, the views
and approaches of former United States President Donald Trump differ significantly from those of the
majority of western countries in a number of notable ways, though it is difficult to determine whether
this represents a genuine shift in the attitude of the population away from the attitudes of other
countries.
I believe that the world is becoming increasingly similar in general, in large part because of global
mobility and the internet, but also because of factors like as unions between nations and pressure on
governments to comply with international norms.
