CMS President speaks at Harvard roundtable
CMS President Professor Geeta Gandhi Kingdon
participated in the LEAPS roundtable at Harvard
University’s Kennedy School of Government on
22-23 September, on the topic of Systems
Approach to Education. The objective was to
understand the role of relevant actors in the Prof Geeta Kingdon
President & MD, CMS
education ecosystem and identifying and
addressing the frictions they face, with the goal of improving
educational outcomes. The roundtable brought together
researchers that have taken similar approaches in their work
to learn from each other, broaden their horizons and consider
the future direction of systems-level education research. The
conference focused on schools on day 1 and on teachers on
day 2, and enabled a shared understanding of the issues at
the frontier of systems-level research, how they are currently
being approached, where progress has been difficult and why.
Felicitation Functions to honour ISC & ICSE
Toppers; Rewards cash prizes of Rs 64 lakh
Grand Felicitation Functions were organized at CMS to
honour and felicitate the toppers of ISC and ICSE Board
Examinations 2022. The toppers of ISC and ICSE 2022 were

Four CMS students of ISC namely Akash Srivastava, Aditya
Vishnu Jhiwaniya, Fahim Ahmad and Simran Singh & one
student of ICSE Kanishka Mittal, who secured All India Rank
1 were awarded Rs 2 Lakh each while 54 students securing
above 99% mark were awarded Rs 1 Lakh each.

NEET and JEE Advanced 2022

engineering) college selections. While Yashfeen Shahran of
CMS Chowk Campus topped in Lucknow in the prestigious
NEET Exam, Devansh Bansal was the Lucknow topper in JEE
Advanced. 72 young bright scholars made it among the top
selections in NEET Exam this year whereas 61 students found
their way among the selected category in JEE Advanced.

Message from the Head-Alumni Connect
Dear friends,
We are very happy to share with you that the Alumni
Connect is cementing and reuniting bonds between the
Alumni and their Alma Mater like never before. We've
had 2 online Meets with our Alumni, the US Chapter on
the 16th of July this year with around 28 attendees and
on the 10th of September, the Europe Chapter with 35
alumni on board. The response was overwhelming and
the conversations were charged with emotions and love
for the school, for the teachers and their respective and respected
Principals. Their sense of gratitude for our founders and the value based
education at CMS is immense and priceless.
We also have a Teachers' Alumni Meet in CMS for all our CMS teachers
alumni including 5 of our respected principals who happen to be CMS
alumni too, lined up for the 30th of September, 2022.
The level of excitement and participation is infectious. Soon enough all the
campuses would be organising their face to face alumni meets at their
respective campuses.
We are very hopeful that we shall all meet in person very soon.
The CMSian spirit holds good for all of you wherever you are. Your love for
your school, your peers from school, your teachers, principal and
Management has brought us closer irrespective of the distances in miles and
minutes.
Always remember, your school is very proud of each one of you. Please do
share the alumni newsletter with your batchmates in case we have not been
able to reach out to them. Kindly share the details of your batchmates on

We hope to create a special bond between

Taha Hasan Zia
Batch of 2009
After completing my school, I did my
Engineering from Integral University and
graduated in 2013. After completing my
engineering, I did a Post Graduate Diploma
in Embedded Systems Design at C-DAC.
After PG-Diploma, I have been working as a
Software Developer and my work involves
development of cryptographic algorithms for security systems
used in hack proof cars such as Mercedes, Audi etc. As of now, I
am living in Germany.
I realised quite early on in my professional studies that studying at
CMS has given me an advantage. CMS contributed in my all-round
personality development and I thank my school and my teachers
for the same.
Richa Srivastava
Batch of 2000
She is a Bachelors in Science and now a
Fitness Trainer, certified from Classic
Fitness Academy. She runs her own Fitness
centre and trains people in India and
Worldwide.
I, being an alumna of CMS Chowk Branch
can proudly say that this institution has
made me into an independent human being. I have spent 11 years
of my life at this beautiful place. My Principal, teachers and
especially our teacher guardians have always been helpful to us in
all respects. They have always been caring, loving and
torchbearers for us whenever we needed them.
CMS Chowk has always focused on our personality development,
it has always given each of us an opportunity to be ourselves.

A major part of my childhood has been in
CMS. CMS served as a wonderful platform
for developing my personality. I always
have been active in extracurricular
activities and major events like QUANTA.
After school, I did my Bachelor's and
Master's in Pharmacy and am currently
pursuing my PhD in Chemical Sciences from
University of Limerick in Ireland funded by
Science Foundation Ireland (SFI). I will always be thankful to the
CMS fraternity for giving me such a versatile and opportune
platform which has immensely helped in my career growth.
To all my juniors: “Work hard, work smart but also make
memories because they will remain with you forever! Always
make sure to use the perfect platform that you've got! Don't miss
out on anything!
Syed Joun Abbas Abidi
Batch of 2011
I joined CMS Chowk in 1995 and passed out
in 2011. I then did my graduation in
Mechanical Engineering from Shri
Ramswaroop Memorial and joined Yash
Pakka Power Plant as a Trainee Engineer.
With excellent communication skills and
personality with dedicated technical skills I
got promoted twice. I have been working with this group for the
last 6 years.
Last year, I appeared for the Central Government - B.O.E (Boiler
Operation Engineer) examination and cleared it. My current
designation as of now is Central Government BoE 1602.
This was only possible due to the guidance and dedicated support
of all my teachers who moulded me into what I am today. I owe
my success to my teachers and am extremely proud to be a part of
the CMS family. Proud to be a CMSian!!
Avinesh joined CMS Chowk in 11 grade and
in 1990 he was chosen as the Prefect of the
Yellow House. He was also chosen as the
Head Boy of the 1992 batch. He was an
active debater and won various awards in
debate competitions and gave most of the
speeches in school meets. Avinesh
completed 6 years of integrated MCA
course from IIPS,
DAVV, Indore. Got campus selection at CITIL (now Oracle
Software) and worked in Mumbai and Singapore. He moved to the
USA in 2003 and settled there. He is active in the local community
and volunteers as an Auxiliary Policeman for Livingston Police
Department and Scout Adult leader in local Livingston Troop 12.
He works as a Director in Mizuho - a Japanese Bank in New York
City.
His hobbies include Skiing, Running, Hiking and Travel. He firmly
believes “The key to happiness is excitement for the future.”

After passing out from CMS Chowk in
2008, I did my Engineering and am now
working as a Technical Lead for Nagarro
Software, Gurgaon. I develop online games
and can proudly say that I belong to the
rare category of people who can call
themselves a Game Developer. I have close
to 9 years of experience in the IT industry, and developing games
has given me a lot in life. I have had the amazing opportunity of
working in Stockholm with some of the most creative and
brightest minds in the field of online casino gaming. Looking back
in retrospect, I believe my schooling at CMS played the most
significant hand in moulding my personality. It taught me the
most valuable skill needed in the outside world, effective
communication.

Hall of Fame Congratulations

Lucknow Topper of
Yashfeen Shahran, an alumna of CMS Chowk, 2021 batch, brought laurels to
Lucknow by securing an All India Rank (AIR) 115 in the NEET Examinations 2022. NEET 2022
She earnestly shared the experience of her journey which led her to become the AIR 115
current 'Lucknow Topper'. She was a meritorious student who scored 99.75%
marks in her board examinations, in 2021. Ms Shahran shared with the students
her valuable advice and motivated them. Ms Shahran's mother, Dr. Sahran Ahmed
expressed her pride in her daughter and shared her joy. Yashfeen Shahran

All of Ms Shahran's teachers were extremely proud of her and spoke few words in
her praise. Ms Shahran and her mother were garlanded and gifted with tokens of
gratitude by our respected Principal, Mrs Aditi Sharma.
The students were greatly impressed by her story and asked her various questions
which led to an interactive session held at the school library wherein students got a
chance to ask Ms Shahran questions about their study routine.
