The Pursuit of Happyness/ Happiness was film and directed by Gabrielle Muccino and released
on December 15, 2006 and won a MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance.
Starring Will Smith as Chris Gardner (a homeless salesman), Jaden Smith as Christopher
Gardner ( Mr. Gardner’s son), Thandie Newton as Linda Gardner (the wife of Gardner), Brian
Howe as Jay Twistle, Dan Castellaneta as Alan Frakesh, James Karen as Martin Frohm, Kurt
Fuller as Walter Ribbon, Takayo Fischer as Mrs. Chu, and Mark Christopher Lawrence as
Wayne. This film is written by Steven Conrad based on the best-selling 2006 memoir of the
same name written by Gardner with Quincy Troupe.

This movie based on the true story of Chris Gardner struggling with paying bills and
homelessness. The main story is all about a struggling salesman who is selling a portable bone
density scanners takes custody of his son after they separate of his wife. He’s poised to begin a
life-changing professional career. The title of “Pursuit of Happyness” are comes to unusual
word, When Gardner sees a mural which his son studying on the kindergarten that the word
was wrong instead of “Happiness” it mis-spelled and painted on the wall is "Happyness"..

This movie is inspiration because it shows that no matter how difficult and serious the problems
are, there will still come to you a new hope so that you can motivate yourself to cope and not
give up on your goals and dreams. One of his lines in the movie “If you want something go get
it”, it also shows how determined he is to fulfill his dreams by being strategic and patient. And
shown here even how many your problems are just trust and believe to god, because something
good will happen to you if you believe and trust him that he is always there for you.
II. SUMMARY

The movie is about the struggle of a father named Chris Gardner takes the custody of his child
named Christopher. Chris Gardner is struggling paying his bills for rent that due-date for a
months, taxes for his car, tuition fee of his son and other expenses. He work hard by selling
