 Who is Johnny Appleseed?

OBJECTIVE(S) (Be sure to include all four parts):


1. Students will orally identify fun facts about Johnny Appleseed with 70% accuracy.
2. Students will utilize scissors properly with 80% accuracy.

ACTIVITIES (There are three sections here):
OPENING (Introduction, purpose, hook)
1. The teacher will begin the lesson with a book about Johnny Appleseed.
2. The teacher will introduce the lesson by asking the essential questions as a group.
BODY (Bulleted step by step/differentiation must be included)
1. As a group, students will go over fun facts about Johnny Appleseed and record them on
the smartboard.
2. The students will be given a mini book about Johnny and will read aloud together as a
group.
3. Students will be directed to sequence the happenings within the book.
4. The students will be given 10 minutes to color the min book when completed with
sequencing.
CLOSURE (Wrap up and brief summary): How will you plan to restate the lesson
objective?
1. The teacher will complete the lesson with a review based on what they learned via the
PowerPoint presentation and group discussion.
2. Students will break into small learning groups for an apple craft activity.
