 About this Application Note
This Application Note explains the Barak Status report and the
files it contains.

The Barak Status Report

The Barak Status Report is a zip file generated by the Barak FE,
containing several files with different information on the Barak
printer. The files are used for diagnostics, as well as controlling
your workflow more efficiently.
These are the files inside the status report:
• Barak / Barak.prf
• BarakStatus / BarakStatus.xml
• GeneralPref / GeneralPref.xml
• MachinePref / MachinePref.xml
• BarakLog / BarakLog.txt
• JobHistoryLog / JobHistoryLog.txt
• UserSettingsLog / UserSettingsLog.txt
The file name extension is visible – depending of the Windows
folder options.

Exporting a Status Report

1. To create a Status Report, perform the 'Init' procedure.
2. On your Barak FE, go to TOOLS>EXPORT PRINTER STATUS.

A SAVE AS dialog box appears.

3. Choose the required path and click SAVE.

Barak.prf + GeneralPref.xml + MachinePref.xml
The files BARAK, GENERALPREF and MACHINEPREF are the FE and the
Printer settings and preferences. These files are for Matan's
internal diagnostic use, when they are placed in another
computer's FE.

BarakStatus.xml
This file contains information about the printer's components
status (e.g. PLC and controller firmware version or heads voltage
status).

BarakLog.txt
This file logs error and information massages while the FE program
is working.
This file can also be found in: C:\Program Files\Matan Barak
FE\Logs and for your convenience, can be opened as an Excel
spreadsheet for easier viewing.

UserSettingsLog.txt
Every time an operator changes the machine's settings, the change
is saved as a new line in the UserSettingsLog.txt file. For
example, after changing the tension power from 20% to 50%, this
line will be added:

This file can also be found in: C:\Program Files\Matan Barak

FE\Logs and for your convenience, can be opened as an Excel
spreadsheet for easier viewing.

JobHistoryLog.txt
This is a very useful log file, containing information about each job
that has been printed by the Barak printer, such as: print time,
print duration, number of copies, print mode, UV power, media
width and length, ink consumption etc.
This file can also be found in: My Documents\Barak FE and for
your convenience, can be opened as an Excel spreadsheet for
easier viewing.
