Characteristics and Key Points

On the MCT 205 crane, everything has been designed in order to optimize, in full safety, the productivity on the site during operation, maintenance,
erection/dismantling, as well as during transport and therefore ensuring a profitable investment. To meet different requirements of market, this topless
crane is designed with advanced performances of 1,6m and 2m configurations, which are perfectly adapted to different job sites.

This digit defines a mast generation.

275

Generation:
23 >A 1st generation
56
>B 2nd generation

Steel profile for upright:

Degital 4 for L150x15 angle steel.
Degital 6 for L180x18 angle steel.
Telescoping cage Degital 8 for L200x20 angle steel.

It enables the crane to reach the height necessary for positioning the mast sections on the rails during the
telescoping operations. Cross section:
Digit 4 for 1,6m cross section.
There are two types of telescoping cage avaiable for MCT205, corresponding to the two versions of mast Digit 6 for 2m cross section.
(1,6 m and 2 m). Weight of telescoping cage is 3,8t for 1,6m version and 4,6t for 2m version. These are exist-
ing telescoping cages used in ZJG product range.
Design type of mast:
The complete telescoping equipment is composed of: L designates the upright of angle steel.
- a telescopic cage; S designates the basic mast of monoblock type.
- a telescoping yoke;
- a set of telescoping accessories;
- a hydraulic unit and a hydraulic cylinder.

Telescoping cage is not necessary when a crane is completely erected or dismantling by means of a mobile
crane.

Masts L46A3, L66A3 and L68B3 are dismountable panel masts, which are convenient for transportation,
especially the long-distance transportation.
While basic masts S 46 J, S 68 J and SR 68 J are monoblock masts, which are convenient for the erection.
They are also much stronger to support the others parts of the crane above it. For overseas shipment,
masts are packaged inside the telescoping cage to save containers.
Same with other masts of Potain, crane tower with L-mast can be erected by the telescopic cage (masts
equipped with lugs), or it can be erected only by a mobile crane (long mast sections assembled in ad-
vance).
For this topless crane MCT205, regardless of 1,6m or 2m mast configuration, there is no need to use the
telescoping mast like those cranes with smaller capacity.

Chassis
Curved track equipment (option) : essential for travelling on curved track.
2 rotating plates, located between the chassis and the bogies, at the opposed corners. The two other bo-
gies are not equipped. When carrying out a curved track, the track width varies in the curve. The system
allows that the wheels remain on the track.
