Today I'm going to be covering math standard MGSE 9-
12 FTF.7. You guys don't really need to know that, but the words around it are used inverse functions to solve trigonometric equations that arise in a modeling context, evaluate the solutions using technology and interpret them in terms of context. So, when we use inverse functions, we have three main functions that we're going to use inverse sine, inverse cosine, and inverse tangent. To use a trigonomic equation or inverse function, we must have a right triangle that is present. So, in some problems we may have two side lengths of a right triangle, but we need to find an angle of something. So, what we would do is use the corresponding inverse trig. So, if we have an opposite and the hypotenuse side lengths, and we want to find the angle, we will use inverse sine, the opposite side length over the hypotenuse side length, and then we just put that into our calculator, make sure we're in degrees for the problem and then it'll spit out what degrees we want. So that is how we use inverse trig. Just an overview, inverse trig, we want to have two side lengths present and we're solving for one of the interior angles, not including the right angle. So yeah, so I have posted a worksheet online that I would love for you guys to just go over and try. So, if you have any questions, you can always reach out. But then again, thank you for joining my podcast. Thanks for listening, please subscribe hit the thumbs up button and I hope you guys have a great rest of your day. See you guys in class tomorrow.
