1. I was mad and sad for what happened because no one is deserving to suffer from extreme
trauma. The factors might have contributed to this situation were extreme pressure and
discrimination, condemnation, and less care for employees. The external factors might be issues
with their families, less opportunities for the workers, and personal issues.
2. The management seems to purposely toxify the workplace in a course to eliminate 22,000 jobs.
The management did their action maybe because for interest of the company. Psychological
symptoms might have alerted the managers to a problem.
3. Managers are free to make decisions on their own without worrying about employees’ reactions
if the change is structural and technology. However, if the change affects the employees,
managers should discuss it to them and ask their reactions to the change. The implications of
managing change are the organization would possibly achieve more goals and milestones if the
being adapted is for the better.
4. The executives changed their CEO who has compassion for their employees and halted some
workplace practices that cause traumas to their employees. As of now, it is not enough yet since
they have not completed the six agreements with the unions. The company should conduct
seminars regarding mental health awareness and rehabilitation program for the depressed
employees.
5. Other companies will learn to show compassion to their employees and the negative effects of
bad management. The managers may learn that extreme pressure to achieve excellence is not
good for the business since the employees would eventually lower their self-esteem and morale.
