In light he came, all dressed in red

The evil gone, for it had fled
Reclaimed his right, over the hill
And so it was, a quest fulfilled

But mad he grew, under the moon

He wanted more, and very soon
For a single gold, nothing spared
Began it was, the age of despair

A man and gold forever entwined

Occupied, he was blind
Went to sleep upon his pile
And choked on his golden bile

That is the legend of the hero

Reduced to nothing, a man of zero
But no, his legacy lies not with slaughter
The story begins with his daughter
