Explain what is meant by each of the marketing concepts, by completing the table below:

Marketing Description
concept

Production In the scope of marketing concept, production concept assumes that


customers would always acquire products which are cheaper and more
readily available.

Product The product concept means that the customers will prefer that have the
most quality and performance or products that are most convenient or
simpler to use.

Selling The selling concept claim that our customer will not buy enough products
and services that are necessary for their needs unless the seller make
marketing efforts to push their products and services to the customers and
make the customers have awareness of their products and services. This
concept claims that the customers behaviours should be guided by
marketing efforts from sellers.

Societal This concept means that the producer and providers of a service or good
must conduct market research to identify the target customers’ wants and
needs so as to deliver services and goods to make their customers’
satisfaction.

Explain the contrast between internal and external data.

Internal data: they can be data that are self-obtained by the organization on their own. Some
internal data are confidential and should not be disclosed to any third parties except the national
and local authority.

External data: they are the data that are obtained and processed by a third party and sell at a fee
charge or free to all companies within the industry.

Market segmentation is the division of a broad market into smaller ones based on some kind of
shared characteristics of each group. These characteristics can be demographics, needs, priorities,
common interests, and other psychographic or behavioural criteria.

List the 4Ps of the marketing mix and provide a short description of each.

Product: defined by what needs these products satisfy the customers, how effective it is.

Price: also includes the pricing strategies of the business for their products and services to target
the target buyers.

Place: where the consumers can buy those products and a range of all distribution channels.

Promotion: how the marketing approaches that the sellers are using to target their customers,
what are the marketing messages, and how they do their promotions.
