1. What's your mantra to success?

How do you think your preparation strategy stood out among

other aspirants?

Ans

A sound technical knowledge is the key to getting placed with confidence. I have appeared for a lots
of online tests by this time, both for myself and my friends (thanks to Covid-19) and I have never
missed to clear a single one of them throughout the placement season, except for Schneider electric
because my computer was hanging during the test. I am also GATE AIR 213 this year with 82.34
marks (Normalized to 80.56). I always wanted to share the unseen journey to this side of the table
with everyone.

And today through this article of Monday Morning I want to introduce to the young minds of NITR “A
Pool of Super Talented Mechanical Engineers”, one of the brightest minds of the nation, the source
of all my knowledge, the people who have shown that YouTube can be a source of hard core
learning apart from being a source of entertainment.

Here I am attaching the list of all these exceptional personalities and links to their video lectures on
YouTube whom I used to follow during my preparation. I request all my juniors to follow them and
give a boost to your technical knowledge and level of preparation, so that, this placement season
becomes a cakewalk to you.

Multiple educators have covered entire syllabus on youtube. I have tried to include full syllabus from
my favourite ones in the above links, but if you find any topics missing in the above links or you need
help or guidance feel free to explore more or contact me on 9583691555.

2. Can you share your experience during the each individual round of the placement?

Ans

Regarding the online test of BAJAJ auto, the technical section had difficult questions like finding out
the available energy obtained in a steady flow process, finding the delflection in a Simply supported
beam with a moment acting at centre (Easy to do by castigliano theorem), finding out shear stress in
a laminar flow through pipes.

There were also moderate questions like finding out the entropy change of ideal gas, and converting
specific humidity to relative humidity when saturation pressure is given.
But the majority of questions were of easy levels like simple force and moment balance equations,
and finding stress in a bar with given external force, ic engine cycles (Otto and Diesel and dual), Over
square and under square engines etc.

The interview round was very short for me. Sometimes short interviews indicates that the panel is
very well convinced about your level of preparation, so students should not worry about this.

In the interview, first question from SOM has to be Theory of Failures so be prepared.

There will be both technical and hr round of interview. No one was eliminated in HR round this year.

The most critical question of the HR round will be where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Never ever mention higher studies or family business in your answer, else the panel will start
laughing at you and show you the back door. I lost Exxon Mobil in the last minute exactly at this
point!

In the end I would also like to request my juniors to share these video lectures to other mechanical
engineers also. Remember sharing is caring. In most critical moments of our life like the placements
season, luck factor has a very big role to play. When you share, you get good wishes in return and
that will ensure good fortunes for you too.

Happy learning
