Objective: To introduce and practice “health”, “The home” and
Tr. Adrian
“numbers” vocabulary. To develop speaking skills.

Warm up -“WRITE IN THE AIR”- To review animals vocabulary, one student Writing and Individually Pieces of

Health -VOCABULARY HEALTH LIST: Tr. will show ss a presentation that Speaking Pairs, Projector,

-“SERIES GAME”: Tr. will place a set of health vocabulary


flashcards on the board, ss will identify the name of each card
then tr will remove them one by one and ask a student to
pronounce all vocabulary even the ones wich were removed. This
will help ss to memorize vocabulary easily.

- “MYSTERY BOX”: To practice vocabulary tr will divide the


students into two teams and have them take turns choosing a
letter and answering a question. After answering the question,
the students have a choice. They can either KEEP the box or GIVE
the box to the other team. Inside the box can be good points (e.g.
+1000) or bad points (e.g. -1000).
- NOTEBOOK EXERCISE: Ss will practice vocab. by matching the
words with the right pictures.
Reading, Individually, Projector,
The home -ROOMS OF A HOUSE LIST: Tr. will show ss a presentation that speaking, pairs and song,
vocabulary includes slides to practice rooms of a house vocabulary and slides listening whole class flashcards
to practice asking and answering ‘Where’s mom, dad, Kelly, etc?‘ and writing and sheets

- “THE HOUSE SONG”: Tr will play a song on Youtube after


practicing singing the chorus a few times, Tr will give each student
a room picture card and ask them to stand up when they hear
their room in the song.

– “WHERE’S DAD?” WHOLE CLASS ACTIVITY. Tr will place all the


flashcards on the board. Then tr will show ss a picture of a man,
and tell students that it is ‘dad’ and the same with a picture of a
woman (mom). Next, ask students if dad is “he” or “she” and the
same with mom. Tr. will drill the key expression by placing the
picture of dad or mom in the middle of the ‘bedroom’ flashcard
and saying, ‘He is in the bedroom.’
Tr will ask students to repeat after he. Once students have
practiced enough, tell them to all close their eyes. Then, place the
picture of dad behind one of the flashcards. Next, tell students to
open their eyes and ask them, ‘Where is dad?‘. The students
should try to guess where the picture of dad is using the sentence
‘He’s in the (bedroom)‘.
When a student guesses correctly, invite that student up to the
front. Tell the other students to close their eyes again, and the
student at the front can then place the mom picture card behind
one of the room flashcards. Then that student can ask the class,
‘Where’s mom?’ and the other students will again try to guess
using ‘She’s in the (kitchen).‘

-“TELEPATHY GAME”: In this ‘Telepathy Game’ students will see


two possible answers. They must choose ONE and they will move
to one side of the room to indicate their answers. To find out the
answer, the students must use ‘Telepathy’ to read the teacher’s
mind.
Obviously, students can not really read minds, but kids love
pretending they have this superpower.

-NOTEBOOK ACTIVITIE: Ss will write down and order rooms of a


house words.

Ordinal and -CARDINAL NUMBERS: Tr will review cardinal numbers with “how Speaking, Whole Projector,
cardinal many”. writing and group, flashcards
numbers -LIST AND USES OF ORDINAL NUMBERS: Tr will explain the uses Reading individually and sheets
and writing of ordinal numbers and ss will practice pronunciation. and pairs

- “PRESS THE RIGHT BOTTON” Tr will show some pictures of


working people asking where is the right floor that they are
finding inside a building. Ss will answer according to the photo.

- “COMPLETE THE BOX”: Ss will pass in front of the board and they
will complete the missing squares with only the correct ending of
ordinal numbers.

- “FAMOUS HOTEL”: Some famous people are inside of a hotel


building, ss must guess which floor each famous is with the
question “Where is…?”.

- “NUMBER RACE”: Tr. first will provide each pair of students a set
of numbers 1 to 20 flashcards. Next, ask students to place the
numbers face down on the desk and mix them all up. When the tr
shouts “Go!“, ss should work with their partner to quickly turn
over all the cards and then place them in the correct order from 1
to 20. The first team to finish wins.

- NOTEBOOK ACTIVITIE: Ss will practice ordinal numbers with an


exercise sheet.
