The history of the world can be seen through the history of art.
Explain.
Art has a parallelism to history for art tells a glimpse of what
happen on the time they were created. This statement can be explained
with the fact that the artwork created in the past can provide insights
about how people lived on that time. We can learn about the civilization
that produced a piece of art by examining the symbols, colors, and
materials used in that piece of art as well as the details and concepts it
portrays.
For example, the portrait of the young woman that depicts
symbolism of chastity (represented by the unicorn) and fertility
(represented by the bunnies), both of which were considered to be
essential qualities for a Renaissance woman to have. We are able to gain
insight into what was significant to these individuals and how they
wished to be remembered once we have deciphered the symbolism
included within these portraits. Hence, if we want to learn and
understand the history much deeper, give ourselves chance to explore
the paintings and art exist on certain period of time.
Moreover, we can examine arts side by side, which may allow us
to see things from a variety of angles and provides a more well-rounded
perspective on occurrences, circumstances, and individuals. We can go
back in time and get a sense of what life was like in eras other than our
own by studying works of art from the past and paying close attention to
the nuances those works contain. The act of perceiving works of art from
bygone eras helps shape who we are as individuals. When we consider
what others have accomplished in the past, we gain both knowledge and
inspiration, both of which contribute to how we express ourselves, how
we experience the world around us, and how we perceive it.
