ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

I. Title of the Activity:


ChristMASAYA 2021: Masayang Kapaskuhan na Kinakalinga ang Kalikasan

V. Proposed Date and Venue: December 15-17, 2021, via Facebook Live, Streamyard

VI. Funding Source

The fund for the contest will come from the donations of individuals who support the
advocacy of the organization. Furthermore, the organization advisers and officers will have an
online caroling as a way to seek for funds. All donations that will be accumulated will be solely
given to the winners of the contest, noting that both organization members and advisers will gain
no profit from it.

VII. Proposed budget


The proposed budget for the activity is ₱3,000. This include the cash prizes and the
certificates for the winners as well as for those that will participate in the contests.

VIII. Registration Fee


The registration is free and open to all students enrolled in Trece Martires City Senior
High School (TMCSHS). The registration for the contests will start from 7 December 2021 (8:00
A.M. to 5:00 P.M.) and it will end on 10 December 2021 at exactly 5:00 P.M. For the spoken
poetry, essay writing, and Christmas décor making, the representative of the section is required to
fill-up the form before being allowed to submit their entries. For the jingle making contest, only
one representative from each participating group will fill up the form. The representative will be
required to submit the names of the other members. Students who successfully filled out the
registration form will be considered official candidates of the contests. Unable to register in the
allotted registration dates may cause the disqualification of the entries.

IX. Rationale

This program is in line with the mandated activity indicated in the Basic Education-
Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP), wherein an Environmental Information and Education
Advocacy (E-IEA) program that aims to protect the health, safety, and well-being of learners can
be conducted as a school-based activity.

Youth for Environment in Schools-Organization (YES-O) Club, together with TMCSHS


Science Teachers, will provide students with an in-depth understanding of the importance of
protecting the environment. With the upcoming Christmas celebration, the YES-O officers took
advantage of this chance to showcase the students’ capabilities and talents by using environmental-
friendly resources materials. The contest will provide a platform for the students to share their
commendable abilities in composing a song, making a spoken poetry, creating a Christmas décor,
and writing an essay, while building harmonious relationships among their peers. Furthermore,
this contest will exhibit the application of environmental resources in enhancing the students’
creativity. Through this event, the students will comprehend that simple actions should be taken
to lessen the effects of said environmental issues.

Lastly, this contest will exhibit the application of environmental resources in augmenting
the students’ creativity.
X. Objectives
The YES-O Club intends to achieve the following:

a. Raise awareness on the current situation of the environment in the Philippines to the
students of Trece Martires City Senior High School;

b. Inspire people in protecting the environment through participating in the contest;

c. Provides a virtual platform for the interaction of TMCSHS students;

d. Spread positivity to people in this time of Christmas despite the pandemic, especially to
individuals having a hard time in this new normal.

XI. Mechanics
A. Jingle Making Contest
The jingle-making contest will adhere to the following guidelines:
1. The jingle that will be made should relate to the theme “Celebration of Christmas amidst
the Pandemic.”:
2. While the instruments that will be used should be eco-friendly, the minimal use of guitars,
piano, and other instruments may be allowed.
3. Every section is encouraged to have at least one (1) group, with three (3) to five (5)
members, as their representatives.
4. The jingle can be in English or in Filipino language.
5. The contestants can use the tunes of other Christmas songs but the lyrics should be original.
6. Outputs should be in mp4 format and must be submitted to YES-O Club’s official e-mail
address (tmcshsyeso@gmail.com) on or before December 13, 2021.
7. Late submissions will not be accepted.
8. Each entry will be posted on the YES-O page for the counting of reactions, under the
‘Impact’ criteria.
9. Reactions from accounts that do not follow or like the YES-O page will not be counted.
10. The winners will be announced on 17 December 2021.
11. Failure to adhere to the guidelines above may result in the disqualification of the entry.

B. Spoken Word Poetry Contest


The spoken word poetry contest will adhere to the following guidelines:
1. The spoken word poetry that will be made should relate to the theme “Pag-aalaga ng
Kalikasan sa Pagsalubong ng Kapaskuhan.”
2. The spoken poetry piece should be in Filipino Language.
3. Every section is suggested to have at least one (1) student as their representative.
4. Outputs should be in mp4 format and must be submitted to YES-O Club’s official e-mail
address (tmcshsyeso@gmail.com) on or before December 13, 2021.
5. The participants are also required to pass a pdf copy of their piece.
6. Late submissions will not be accepted.
7. Each entry will be posted on the YES-O page for the counting of reactions, under the
‘Impact’ criteria.
8. Reactions from accounts that do not follow or like the YES-O page will not be counted.
9. The winners will be announced on 17 December 2021.
10. Failure to adhere to the guidelines above may result in the disqualification of the entry.

C. Christmas Décor Making Contest


The Christmas Décor making contest will adhere to the following guidelines:
1. The Christmas Decor should be made from recyclable and eco-friendly materials:
2. Every section is encouraged to have at least one (1) student as representative.
3. The pictures of the Christmas decor should be in JPEG file format and must be submitted
to YES-O Club’s official e-mail address (tmcshsyeso@gmail.com) on or before December
13, 2021.
4. The participants are also required to pass a description of the Christmas Décor created, as
well as the materials used.
5. Late submissions will not be accepted.
6. Each entry will be posted on the YES-O page for the counting of reactions, under the
‘Impact’ criteria.
7. Reactions from accounts that do not follow or like the YES-O page will not be counted.
8. The winners will be announced on 17 December 2021.
9. Failure to adhere to the guidelines above may result in the disqualification of the entry.

D. Essay Writing Contest


The essay writing contest will adhere to the following guidelines:
1. The essay writing contest must relate to the theme “Sustainable Celebration of Christmas.”
2. The spoken poetry piece should be in English Language.
3. Every section is suggested to have at least one (1) student as their representative.
4. The theme of the essay will be given on December 13, 2021 at exactly 1 p.m. to the
registered participants.
5. The deadline of the essay is on December 13, 2021 at exactly 5 p.m.
6. Outputs should be in pdf format and must be submitted to YES-O Club’s official e-mail
address (tmcshsyeso@gmail.com) on December 13, 2021.
7. Late submissions will not be accepted.
8. The winners will be announced on 17 December 2021.
9. Failure to adhere to the guidelines above may result in the disqualification of the entry.
