a. Pot Making

Activity Workshop !!!

Task #2: Pottery

Materials:
 Refined clay (Luwad or Lapok)
 Water
 Match
 Dry leaves/wood
 Coloring materials :paint, water color, poster paint (optional)
Directions: Follow the given directions below.
1. Get your clay on a flat surface and add water gradually to create a dough- like
material, enough to hold itself to form your desired pot.
2. Form or mold your clay dough into a clay pot with a lid. The height of the pot
should be 6 inches in length and 5-6 inches wide.
3. After molding your clay pot and lid, smoothen the surface by tapping water into
your hand or fingers and slowly and gently rub it to the pot until it’s done.
4. Sun dry the clay pot and the lid until it hardens.
5. Next, when your pot and lid is all dried up, create a fire using the match, dry
leaves and wood just enough to cover the pot, ask the help of your older siblings
or parents to execute this part- you are going to cook the pot until it’s all dried
up.
6. This step is optional, after the 5th process, you may now color or paint your pot
according to your own idea.
