Brave Macbeth,
You are a great soldier and for this reason I want to give you a reward.
Since you have demonstrated your courage and your loyalty I am giving you the title of Thane of Cawdor.
I am very proud of what you have done and I hope you will continue to commit yourself to our army.
I expect you not to disappoint me and to give me news regularly.
Best regards

The picture shows us three witches that are making a spell. They’re wearing a black cloak because they
don’t want to be recognised. While they’re putting in the cauldron some ingredients, the fire heats. In the
background I can see two men who are walking in the fog. I suppose they are looking at the three witches
and I think that they are scared.

Scotland is a constitutional monarchy and the head of state is the British monarch, currently Queen
Elizabeth II. In my opinion Scotland can be considered independent even if the leader is the British Queen.

After king Duncan’s death, Donalbain and Malcolm, the king’s sons, decided to stay in Scotland and help
finding the murderer of their father. But Ross and Macduff started to think that the killers of the king were
Donalbain and Malcolm because they were next in line to be king and because they often talked in secret.
So Macduff and the other people that suspected that they were the murderers ordered to get them
arrested. The two suspects tried to run away but it was too late so they were punished with death.

The death penalty today is different from a long time ago. In fact in many countries is not even legal.
However it still exist in a lot of states. For example in 24 states of USA crimes like murder are punished by
death. Other crimes that are punished with death are for example rape, betrayal and distraint, but they
change for every country.
In my opinion the death penalty sometimes is fair, but honestly I think that putting people in jail is more
useful because the prisoners, maybe, can start to feel guilty and I suppose that the feeling of knowing that
you are a murderer become an agony and a torture.

Hi Alex,
I’m fine, what about you?
I’m very happy that you’re coming here and I would love to join you for a day!
In my area there are many interesting castle, so I was thinking we could visit one. For example there’s the
Monselice’s castle which my parents visited and told me it was great. If I were you, in addition, I would go
to the thermal pool for a day and enjoy the hot water which is well known for its benefits.
If you want to have a great lunch or dinner I recommend the restaurant “Al Capitello” which make delicious
gnocchi.
I hope these advices were good.
See you soon

In the last historical period, since the combustion engine transformed the way of traveling and the way of
making war, horses were no longer used like in the past.
From the twentieth century horse riding lost its ethical importance and turned into a playful-sports
activities.
The types of riding change according to the activity that is being carried out.
The first type is sport riding which includes many styles and ways to do it, for example dressage, show
jumping, racing, polo, cross country, endurance.
The second type is horse riding for work that includes every style related to activities like breeding.
There are also many different types of horses which are used according to the activity that is carried out.
In addition to horses, there are other animals used to move around. For example camels in the desert, dogs
in areas of snow and ice to tow the sleds, cows, donkeys and oxen in the farms.
