ABSTRACT

The previous text summarizes the importance of emotional intelligence and the
evolution it has had throughout history, thanks to the studies carried out, significant
contributions have been made, seeking to conclude a solid base on the formation
and development of emotional intelligence. Initially these philosophers said that
emotional intelligence was based on cognitive aspects focusing mainly on problem
solving and also including memory, however a controversy came out due to the
thought of other philosophers who said that for the generation of emotional
intelligence also it was necessary to include those non-cognitive aspects and, in
this way, it achieves a balance and, in this way, manage to increase the coefficient
in people.

Daniel Goleman was the main pioneer in research on emotional intelligence, who
referred to it as the way to manage emotions intelligently, that is, to have control
over them and in turn they do not have control over people, if not giving rise to
having absolute control over all times. It also refers to emotions as an essence or
impulses that trigger at the moment of acting of each person.

In essence, the importance of this intelligence lies as the way to accurately


understand and comprehend emotions before other people. Possessing this ability
allows effective collaboration, the development of good interpersonal relationships
and good work communication. It is very important to strengthen these skills
because this is the key to generating new and good leaders in society.
