We are building a smart, customized, and hyperlocal neo-bank for ~55 Million middle-income Indians excluded
from the purview of formal banking today. Limited options and/or financial illiteracy drives our target customer to
unreliable informal offerings such as unregistered chit funds and/or local financiers and we intend to change that!

We are 2 weeks away from launching our digital savings account - ZenPRO, in partnership with a commercial
bank. With this launch, RupeeZen will be one of the few startups in the country to be live on a full fledged neo-
banking product. Our product offering is unprecedented, mobile-first, and carefully designed for our segment. We
are well positioned to re-invent the way our segment banks today!

Our founders come with deep expertise in the fintech space - Sushyant (11 years experience in credit, analytics at
Capital One, ex-IIT Madras), Ravi (15 years experience in diverse ops functions at Capital One), and Ankur (10
years experience in credit, business development at Religare, UGRO, and Capital Float).

Profile: Backend Engineer

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced PHP developer who is smart, customer-centric, and excited about our vision. You should
be passionate about developing and delivering challenging mobile applications in a fast-paced, unstructured start-up
environment. You will be working closely with an agile team to build, test, and deliver new features that meet the company’s
needs.

You will be one the first members of the core technology team that will build and scale RupeeZen’s flagship product
offerings. As an early member of RupeeZen’s core team, you will be uniquely positioned to capitalize on the company’s
growth.

Required experience

● You have 4+ years of experience in PHP development

● You have developed and shipped multiple applications
● You have a track record of delivering projects within committed timelines
● You have lead, mentored, and guided a team of 2-3 developers on a meaningful project
● You understand how to manage stakeholder expectations – i.e. proactive communication, flag delays and suggest
appropriate tradeoffs to go to market
● You have at least 1-year experience building and delivering solutions with a start-up

Required qualification and technical Skills

● Educational Qualification: BE, BTech, MTech, MCA

● 4+ yrs hands-on experience in developing and managing applications
● Experience of working in Codeigniter
● Strong working knowledge of OOP concepts
● Hands-on experience in creating APIs
● Strong knowledge in Mysql and related DB concepts
● Design and code solutions that meet the documented business and technical requirements
● Follow design and coding standards,
● Follow the software development process as prescribed by development and project managers
● Experience in building and executing test automation frameworks - including unit tests, component tests and end to
end integration tests.
● Participate in code reviews both as reviewer and coder
● Strong knowledge on Agile Methodology
● Knowledge in cloud platforms AWS, hands-on experience in AWS services like EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, etc.
● Strong familiarity with Git
