Styles Set #58: “Requested 5”

®

Styles for Band-in-a-Box

Introduction and Overview
Please note: Some features found in these styles require Band-in-a-Box 2006 or later. The styles will play fine on previous
versions but the “instrument change in the‘b’ section” feature will be unavailable.

Thank you for purchasing Styles Set #58, with 22 great new “Requested 5” styles for Band-in-a-Box.

This is our 5th set of user-requested styles – and thanks to your many suggestions as posted in the Styles Wish List
Forum, we are excited to bring you this collection of 22 great new styles.

The wish list covered a wide assortment of rhythm feels – and you’ll find them all in this set; 3/4 Swing, Blues
Rock, Bluesy Jazz w/ Strings, Even 8ths Pop-Rock, Sw. 8 Folk-Country, 40s Swing 4-string rhythm guitar - tuned in 5ths,
Ev. 8 Rock-Pop Piano accompaniment, Slow sw. 16 Bluesy Funk, Bossa, Med-slow ev. 8 Pop-Folk, 5/4 meter Pop Rock,
Solo Classical guitar with ev. 8th arpeggios & 16th note tremolo, Fast ev. 8 Punk-Grunge, 60s ev.8th Funk Blues, Sw.8
Bluesy Reggae-Ska, Ev. 16 Rockabilly, Ev. 16 Folk guitar strumming, sustained instrument styles, MOR Pop - ev. 16th feel
and more.

Included are Style names like; BE_53S_1, BLUESSTR, BURTBAC1, DOCWAT2, DONWILL, EDDIECON,
ELTONPNO, FUNKAFY, LSTDOGS1, MISSION1, RAMONES1, RAYCHAR1, RECUERDO, REGAESKA,
ROKBILY1, TJOAD, VANGEL1 and more. You asked for them – now you’ve got them!

Many of these styles make use of a feature added in Band-in-a-Box 2006 that allows instrument changes in the “b”
section of tunes. For this feature, Styles Set 58 requires Band-in-a-Box 2006 or later. The styles will play fine on
previous versions but the “instrument change in the ‘b’ section” feature will be unavailable. In most cases the instrument
changes are subtle and are used to brighten up, or slightly change, the “b” section. For example, a clean electric guitar at
“a” might change to a muted guitar at “b.”

As a reminder, effects like reverb, chorus, and panning are not embedded in a style so these settings should be set
and saved with the tune from the main song page (Alt+F2). The demo tunes for these styles follow the same naming
convention as the styles themselves. For example, the DEMO song for ELTONPNO.STY is ELTONPNO.MGU.

Here is an easy way to check out these new styles and demos. Open any style in the Styles58 folder, then use the
Jukebox to audition the demos and styles. (Tip: Uncheck “Change Melody Instrument.”) Here’s another way to check out
the styles; press the [Style…] button to get to the Select Style window. In the “Only show styles disk #” drop-down list
select “#58 Requested 5,” then highlight the individual styles and press the [Load Song Demo] button. It’s a good idea to
uncheck “Auto Change Melody/Soloist patch” so that you’ll hear the correct demo melody instrument. You will also find
these styles listed under the different general musical category names like Jazz or Pop/Rock. More detailed information
about each style is available by pressing the [Memo] button of the demo tune.

At our PG Music home page, www.pgmusic.com, you’ll find lots of interesting downloads, demos, streaming
videos, magazine and customer reviews, streaming audio-visual program tutorials, and more. Review your favorite
products or stop by the Styles Wish List page, where you can request specific styles or leave feedback and suggestions -
that’s how we stay in touch with you. For example, if you would like even more of these Requested type of styles, that’s
the place to let us know. So drop in and check it out.

We hope you enjoy these “Requested 5” styles.

Have fun.
