What is caption?
• Caption text is a short piece of text that follows
an image, a graph, or other visual media and gives
additional description and explanation.
• Captions can consist of a few words of
description or several sentence. Along with the
title, lead, and section headings.

How to Write Caption?

• Observe the selected photo or video

• Find out th mssage from the picture
• Write concise phrase or sentence under
the picture
Types of Caption
• Identify Bar : Only explains who person in the picture is
• Cutline : Only describes who the person in the pictures is and what they do
• Summary : this type gives complete explanation of who is being drawn, what
was done, when it happened, where it happened, and why it happened
• Expanded : This is more complete than a summary, sometimes it also
includes how it happened andthere are quotes
• Group Identification : Almost similar like Identification Bar, usually used for
images that contain more than one person
• Quote : Contains a quote from someone related to the image
